Unraveling | Sara Ella

I‘ve spent the last couple of days unraveling crochet project which took me most of last year but I never finished. When I tried it on it turned out to be huge. A friend of mine offered to sell it for me at a craft fair if/when I finished it. That was over year ago but it has remained untouched because I just can‘t bring myself to use that yarn to make something for someone else.

CatLass007 So the other day I decided to unravel it and reuse the yarn for something else that I could wear. It‘s been a frustrating experience but I‘m almost done. Yay! I am glad I made the decision to start over so I can make something I will enjoy. #firstworldproblems #crocheter #crafter (edited) 7y
julesG Best of luck with your next project. I hate unraveling. It's so dispiriting. 7y
CatLass007 @JulesG I‘m actually rather encouraged. This has laid stagnant for a year, nagging at me in the back of my mind. Now I finally can get something accomplished with this yarn and move on to something else! Thanks for the encouragement!! (edited) 7y

Kaye What were you making, a sweater? 7y
CatLass007 @Kaye I was making a Bohemian style circular vest that was supposed to come to my ankles. It never got that far because the top part was much too large. It was too large on my friend who wears a 3X. The mandala pattern that was supposed to be on my back chose to be a target on my butt instead. 7y
Kaye This circular type sweaters are really pretty. I‘ve never tried making one though. I think the wearables are sometimes tricky patterns. They might say they will fit a certain size but they turn out way off. 7y
Kaye Forgot to ask what have you decided to make with the yarn ? 7y
CatLass007 @Kaye I made a short circular vest a couple of years ago and it turned out quite well. I just think this pattern was poorly written and difficult to follow. It was supposed to be one-size-fits-all but I‘m 4‘11” tall and something that fits me is not going to fit a model who is 5‘8” tall, or vice versa. Also, the designer insisted that an H hook be used. I used the size F hook because I crochet somewhat loosely. Still too big. Live and learn. 7y
CatLass007 @Kaye it‘s Red Heart Unforgettable, a roving yarn, in beautiful shades of coral and aqua. I‘ve been looking at the Red Heart site for patterns that use this specific yarn. I have found some I like but haven‘t narrowed it down to one yet. 7y
Kaye The colors sound beautiful. Hope you‘ll share your next project when you get it going or finished. 🙂 7y
CatLass007 @Kaye I sure will! 7y
