Mehso-so

Look who‘s done with her (first?) #AuldLangSpine novel! @Karisa recommended #DearEdward to me. I really liked the writing and the author captured the young boy really well. I wish the Plotline with the letters started early, since the story dragged a bit in the middle.
Rating: 3,75⭐️
Looking forward to the Apple TV 📺 adaption.

Karisa Glad you liked it and I agree about the letters. I was disappointed in the adaptation. They made some interesting choices. I‘m eager to see what you think of that one though if you watch it! 3mo
thewallflower0707 @Karisa almost done with episode 5 and I‘m really enjoying it! I love that they changed the passengers storylines and that we are getting so much focus on them, it‘s a lot more interesting than their book parts 🫣. 3mo
thewallflower0707 @Karisa I also think that Edwards and Shay‘s friendship is much more believable. 3mo
thewallflower0707 @Karisa I‘m done with the show and they really dropped the ball in the 2nd half 😳 3mo
Karisa @thewallflower0707 Yeah, the show kind of just falls apart. Such a bummer! 3mo

I finally had time to choose my novel for #AuldLangSyne 2024! It‘s the Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi, which I conveniently already have downloaded on my kindle. To make myself more ambitious, I also added #DearEdward, which I vaguely remember reading about when it was released. Looking forward to the discussion ☺️ @Karisa

Karisa Two very different books! Love it! Hope you like them too. ☺️ 4mo

Pickpick

#DearEdward is a heartbreaking but hopeful coming-of-age story of a young boy who is the sole survivor of a plane crash. His entire family and 180 other passengers perished in the crash. The book is inspired by a real event that occurred in 2010. Dear Edward will be on shelves January 7, 2020. https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/dear-edward

4.5 stars. This was such a unique plot. You follow the life of a 12 year old boy who is the sole plane survivor, as he comes to terms with his new reality. The author did an amazing job getting the reader into the boy‘s head and empathizing with him. It‘s a heartbreaking, inspiring, lovely, and hopeful story.

Thank you #netgalley for an advanced reader‘s copy of #dearedward
