Toby | Margaret Wild

Toby, by Margaret Wild, is HF. The Theme grieved. It tells the story of an old Dog who belongs to Sara and her brothers. Sara has been with him since she was a baby. Toby got sick, and all of them had different ways of showing their emotion, from anger, sadness to empathy. This LC. Book an open conversation and can be a great tool to teach children that it is okay to feel the way they do when they have someone sick or that has died.

Jennymmm I was unable to find a website or award but did find a supplemental book call Creative Learning Activities for Young Children by Judy Herr.

DrSpalding The universal design principle matches nicely with the theme of this book being grief. When looking for resources, you can always look for resources that align to your teaching strategy. In this case, if you searched literature circles, you could include a resource on effective implementation of literature circles. 5y

@LibrarianRyan Cool postcard! Richard Peck is new to me, so I have someone new to check out. Thanks!

LibrarianRyan He is so great. The only book I don't like is. The first chapter is great and then the rest of the book is about car racing. 7y
