The Living Dead | Daniel Kraus, George A. Romero

Pickpick

I loved this book. George Romero died in 2017. Shortly after Daniel Kraus gets a call from his estate asking if he would be willing to finish this novel George was working on. The result is a seamlessly written, epic, zombie novel. There is A LOT of social commentary in here and it‘s all relevant. I always say it but zombie books are never about the zombies. This one‘s about us and how out of touch we‘ve become as people, with ourselves, each 👇🏼

Reggie other, the earth. A good zombie pick! 4y
llcoolnate Sounds interesting! Will check it out!! 4y

Bette I would say the same thing when people asked why I liked The Walking DEAD...it's not about the dead...it's how the people live and act. 4y
vivastory I'm gonna read this one soon. Great review! 4y
Reggie @llcoolnate LLCoolJ went to Las Cruces 20 years ago for a concert and afterwards he came to a restaurant I was working at and I got to wait on him. He was nice. Hope you like the book. 4y
Reggie @Bookzombie @vivastory Thanks!!! I hope ya‘ll like it it. I will admit I was in a bit of a funk today after finishing it last night. 4y
Reggie @Bette That‘s a hard show. I checked out after they killed Glen off. I just remember Morgan‘s speech to Rick where he says why you taking all the guns. Cause it means you got something good. Which means someone else wants to take it. 4y
llcoolnate @Reggie awesome!! 4y
Centique I am just waiting for zombies at the moment. Personally I prefer emancipated AIs as part of our future narrative but the way things are going in 2020 I‘m #expectingzombies 🤪 4y

Greer, a young Black woman, has just escaped the zombies from her trailer park with a Syrian refugee, Fadi. They make it to town to see if they can save her brother where they come upon a group of 300 angry white people about to take on a group of 40 Syrian refugees because the violence being reported around the nation is surely because of people not like them. I keep reading horror thinking as long as we haven‘t gotten there yet we‘re ok, and👇🏼

Reggie yet, it just feels like we‘re just missing the zombies. 4y

LibrarianToujours Well, Election Day was Tuesday for NH and the library is downstairs from our voting place. People kept yanking in our doors (we‘re still closed to the public) and I texted a friend and said that I felt like we were holed up against the zombie apocalypse 🧟 4y

Reggie @NHLibrarian that‘s funny. 4y
Centique I wrote my previous comment and then scrolled down to find youre #expectingzombies too! 4y
Reggie @Centique Lolololol I kinda hope it‘s zombies and not emancipated AIs because the one book I read about the EAIs, they turned on us and to kill us off they poisoned all the water sources with mercury. I just don‘t think the zombies have that in them. 😝 4y
Centique @Reggie yeah, zombies are not so good at planning! 😂 4y
