I'm actually having a really hard time getting back into this book because my brain isn't done obsessing over my last book.

I started reading this book almost a year ago but never got past halfway. I'm starting from the beginning again so I can finish it before seeing the friend who gave it to me. We meet up annually to talk about books, so I wanna have this one fresh in my mind when I see them again.

Interesting, but not entirely substantiated scholarship— still, definitely worth the read and fascinating 🧚🍁💀not for the weak-stomached scholar, that‘s for sure

I'm a bit more than halfway through this but it isn't grabbing me. TBH I find it weird when European mythical creatures are transposed onto American soil. The protagonist is 16 years old and that seems to be the target audience. Slow going but not terrible. Megan does tend to jump into situations that have me going 'Stop and think!' but, hey, she's 16 🤗

Another small cute book I have chosen for a bit of diversion.

It's hard to divorce the background information about this book from the overall story, but I will say this was a delightful read. The protagonist subverts expectations and feels very refreshing to read. As this is a Pre-Tolkien fantasy novel it alludes to fey but they are left to the reader's interpretation. This had a very meandering pace with a pastoral setting, but it was to its advantage, like a calm walk in the park.

Doppoetry Steady pacing despite it not being action-heavy. It really was a delightful gem of a book. 3mo

Replacing the roofing and siding of the house has made it difficult to get any reading done. 😞

I'm not too far into this, but I found it a bit hard to follow, so I've been annotating it, and taking notes on it. Found a nice Reddit thread and taking my time with the text. It's helped a lot.
