#frderikbackman shows a clear understanding of people‘s emotive struggles and triumphs in all his writings. In this book, he was able to turn around a character from #mygrandmotheraskedmetotellyoushessorry that I disliked immensely into someone to rally for. Peppered with Backman‘s trademark humor and wisdom, #brittmariewashere is a beautiful story about courage, self-worth, living, and passion. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry: A Novel
Blooferlady 🤔 I‘m having a tough time deciding, because they have completely different themes. One is about loss and acceptance of it while growing up, while the other is about self-worth and discovering independence. Perhaps I‘ll say neither, because out of all of Backman‘s works Ove is still my favorite carmudgeon. 😁 All three books are laugh-out-loud funny though. 😆 (edited) 6y
