Pickpick

#frderikbackman shows a clear understanding of people‘s emotive struggles and triumphs in all his writings. In this book, he was able to turn around a character from #mygrandmotheraskedmetotellyoushessorry that I disliked immensely into someone to rally for. Peppered with Backman‘s trademark humor and wisdom, #brittmariewashere is a beautiful story about courage, self-worth, living, and passion. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

starlight97 Is it better than My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry? 6y
Blooferlady 🤔 I‘m having a tough time deciding, because they have completely different themes. One is about loss and acceptance of it while growing up, while the other is about self-worth and discovering independence. Perhaps I‘ll say neither, because out of all of Backman‘s works Ove is still my favorite carmudgeon. 😁 All three books are laugh-out-loud funny though. 😆 (edited) 6y

It‘s tender and amusing with so many life lessons in less than four hundred pages.

“Not all monsters were monsters at the beginning. Some are monsters born of sorrow.”

“Because every seven-year-old deserves a superhero.” #fredrikbackman #fredrikbackmanquotes #mygrandmotheraskedmetotellyoushessorry #growingup

starlight97 I looooved this one ❤️ 6y

It‘s been a while since I picked this up because of NaNoWriMo taking up so much of my time, and I really wish I hadn‘t left it for a month. It‘s so good!!

#AwesomeAutumnBooks ?-Day 14- ? #StrangeTitles ?
I absolutely LOVE #FredrickBackman books, but there is no denying many of his titles are quite #STRANGE ?. I highly recommend #AManCalledOve and his novella "And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer". This book #MyGrandmotherAskedMeToTellYouShesSorry is a heartwarming story about life and death and one of the most important #HumanRights: the right to be #DIFFERENT. ?? #TBR

Cinfhen Great graphics! Great choices!!! 7y
Jess7 Thanks! @Cinfhen - I suppose this post could also work for today's #Septembowie prompt given that #FredrikBackman books make me want to break out in a HAPPY #MagicDANCE 🤗💃🏻🕺🏻😉 @Marchpane @Cinfhen 7y
Bks4Wrms I attempted to start his novella this morning but then one of my girls decided to wake up an hour earlier than usual. Looking forward to some me time with this book later today. 7y

Jess7 @Bks4Wrms I hope you're able to! It's a short read, but you may want to keep some tissues handy bc it's a very emotionally charged read - especially if you have ever known anyone with #AlzheimersDisease or #Dementia - I loved it and I hope you do too! 7y
Cathythoughts Loving your happy magic dance ! Nice one ! 7y
