I'm not in a position to participate in the strike, so I thought I'd do something else on this International Women's Day to support women. I set up this fundraiser with the #MalalaFund to help girls get an education and grow up to be women who change their communities.
Here's the site for my fundraiser: https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=919427

Happy #InternationalWomensDay!😊 On my blog, I featured books I read in the past year that have awesome female characters. Link: https://chachic.wordpress.com/2017/03/08/2017-international-womens-day/

What are some of the books you've read and loved that have fictional ladies who have shown strength in various ways?

minavesguerra Thank you!!! 8y
Chachic @minavesguerra Thank YOU for writing Iris! 8y
BookishMe Precious Ramotswe is my role model. Thursday Next and Lizzy Spellman are such spunky women. And the extraordinaire Phyrne Fisher is one sassy Detective! Just realized all are investigators of varying niches - lol 8y

Chachic @BookishMe Thanks for sharing your fave fictional women! I read the first book featuring Precious Ramotswe and Thursday Next but I've forgotten most of the story by now.😂 I think mysteries aren't really my cup of tea. 8y
BookishMe @Chachic some books are forgettable like that, for some ;)) 8y
Chachic @BookishMe Haha yes, we can't all like the same books! 😅😆 8y

Finished on #IWD2017 - seemed appropriate. Terrific read on women walking the city and being.
