I actually had a nightmare last night that the library reduced the number of holds each person could have to 10, and I wrote them a letter asking then why they were ruining my life 😂😂😂
My husband says I have officially reached Peak Nerd.

MicheleinPhilly Last weekend I had a private in store shopping appointment at my local indie. The night before I dreamt that the store was actually the LA Central Library (which is HUGE) and none of the employees were wearing masks. They kept getting up in my face and asking if I needed help and I just kept shouting, “My time is running out! Stop bothering me!” Uber nerd. 4y

xicanti Ha! When my library reopened, they reduced physical holds to 20. It horrified me, but I didn‘t bother writing a letter. I guess a bunch of other people did that work for me, because they‘ve since lifted the restriction! 4y
ravenlee My library has a 10-hold limit. My first workaround - use both mine and kiddo‘s card. Second workaround - immediately place the next round of holds when getting home from picking up the last one. Literally, within minutes. Either my branch librarians really love me or they‘re sick to death of seeing me drive up. 4y

ravenlee When they started doing the curbside pickups, they asked us to have our library card out when they came to the car, signature side out. The fourth or fifth time I forgot and was scrambling for my wallet and the librarian laughed and shook her head and said, “I know who you are, Ms. Shinoskie.” 😆 Mine are almost entirely for the kiddo, and she‘s voracious. 4y

batsy Ahahaha! I love it, by which I mean, a *scary* dream. I had a dream during lockdown that one of the footballers I follow on instagram posted a story about how he was at the bookstore, showing off books he bought (this guy has never talked about books?!) and in the dream I wrote a long, outraged comment on his page about how the rest of us can't go to bookstores. I woke up so angry 😳🤣🤣 That's when I knew all was definitely not well with me lmao 4y

Centique @batsy when Covid enters your dreams right? I love that you gave him a bookish side in your dream! We have no social distancing at the moment although it‘ll probably be back. We had zero but we‘ve taken in thousands of returning citizens and some of them have it - hopefully the quarantine they‘re in is sufficient but 🤷🏻♀️ 4y

batsy @Centique I know, it's all a little bit weird. We've basically reopened most sectors with social distancing measures in place, but as expected it's hard to get people to adhere. There's temperature checks everywhere but who knows how effective that is. Our cases are down to a single digit and we do get stats on the cases daily, so the only person I trust at the moment is our Director-General of Health... 4y
