A Small Death in Lisbon | Robert Wilson

Pickpick

This is a complex and gripping mystery/thriller spanning two timelines that eventually merge. Some parts are quite disturbing and graphic, but I enjoyed learning more about Portugal's history in the second half of the 20th century.

I chose this book for the “wartime mystery“ prompt of #CloakAndDaggerChristmas. @Ruthiella

Storia molto interessante, bellissima ambientazione. Ho apprezzato l'analisi che viene fatta dei sentimenti e delle sensazioni del protagonista. Tuttavia non ha un buon ritmo e non mi ha fatto impazzire lo stile di scrittura.

I enjoyed following Raimund Gregorius as he tries to find out about the life of Amadeu de Prado.

Is tarot like crochet?

According to Pessoa, his mental and literary activities are. And to me, tarot does fall into that category.

We pull cards everyday. Do spreads. Dive deep. Psychoanalyse. But for what?

It does sometimes feel like a “stitch on stitch forming a whole without a whole”. We find our messages, but how do we use them?

Do we just read the cards? Or feel for ourselves deeply and move on? Or, do we use them to really live?

AkashaVampie Love the art on the Tarot. What pack is that? My son collects tarot decks. Would love to get this one for him. 1y
TalesandTexts @AkashaVampie this is the Wild Unknown Tarot deck. All of their tarot and oracle decks have incredible imagery. You get this in both full size and pocket edition. :) 1y
AkashaVampie @TalesandTexts thanks sweetie. I will check it out. 1y

#IndelibleMoments Day 4: A failed #Marriage, affairs-ala-Midsummer Night‘s Dream, dream-deaths, mythology, musings on classical poetry - and what it means to truly live. I have so many feelings about this fabulous book from the Netherlands. Review is forthcoming.

Eggs Sounds engaging and far reaching. If that is a dessert, I‘m in😋 2y
