Still reading Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. I‘m wondering whether or not I should start posting my reviews here on Litsy instead of Goodreads. Do you guys use both apps? Which app do you prefer to write reviews on? #litsyvsgoodreads #bookreviews
lahousewyfe I use both apps and just copy my Litsy review to my Goodreads account. 6y
mreads I use both, I write here and usually just star there. A brief synopsis and casual opinion here works better for my style. 6y
Jemgirl2014 I'm primarily here. I just use goodreads for updating my reading challenge. 6y

Suet624 I just use Goodreads for the reading challenge. 6y
rretzler I use LibraryThing, Goodreads and Litsy. Litsy is easier to post quick reviews, but I attempt to get them in all 3 places (using the same review for LT and GR) Always a star rating on LT and GR at a minimum (edited) 6y
bookishbitch I only post here and on Instagram. I used to do goodreads but stopped. This is easier and more fun for me. Plus it annoys me that goodreads and Amazon are linked. I can't articulate why. It just feels invasive. 6y
Naj I post reviews only here. Goodreads is just for tracking my reading. 6y
vumblereads @lahousewyfe I might do that too. The only bad thing about Litsy is that the characters are limited for reviews. 6y
vumblereads @mreads yes I don‘t always feel like I have to write a full on review. 6y
vumblereads @suet624 Litsy and Goodreads should combine into one app 😂 there are a couple things I like on goodreads that I can‘t find here on Litsy 6y
vumblereads @jemgirl2014 yes the reading challenge always draws people back to goodreads 6y
vumblereads @rretzler I‘ve heard library thing is pretty good too. 6y
vumblereads @bookishbitch I understand. I personally don‘t find it invasive, but somehow I can‘t escape Amazon and Goodreads since I‘m a kindle user 😂 I eventually got used to my review being here and there and the cookies too. Those terrible cookies. 6y
vumblereads @naj I would understand why you‘d post reviews here. People are more receptive here than goodreads. 6y
rretzler IMO LibraryThing is better than Goodreads. Like GR, LT has groups that you can belong to. Some of them, like the 75 Books Challenge, are longstanding and the members of the group are a very welcoming and friendly community. I‘ve tried some of the groups on GR and to me it seems that no one really cares about getting to know you. Plus even though the selection of giveaway books is smaller on LT, it is much easier to get one than on GR. 6y
Naj @vumblereads Yes, Litsy is a smaller community. More cozy! 6y
vumblereads @rretzler interesting. I‘ve been joining these giveaways on goodreads since I don‘t know how long and never won a book 😂 and yes I agree with the goodreads community not being warm and friendly. Some of them are even high brow and judgmental IMO, they need to chill out. I might check out library thing one if these days. I know there‘s a way to transfer data without manually putting your books in one by one. 6y
rretzler I had probably signed up for GR before LT, and I do use both sites daily, but the only reasons I can think of to say why I use GR is because of its year end reading summary graphic and book challenge graphic and because the star ratings of reviews are very slightly better aligned with my star ratings. 6y
rretzler Sorry, last post and then I‘ll stop. 🤣 Plus Litsy is owned by LT and the LT founder and staff are very approachable. They care and listen to the community and make changes to both platforms based on user feedback. (Not all changes anyone wants, but they do listen). No way that would happen on GR! 😀 Just my thoughts - sorry I rambled! 6y
vumblereads Oh yes. And I do enjoy looking at my reading stats - tables and graphs of the books you‘ve read. I‘m a fool for graphs and charts 😂 makes me feel smart. My most favorite one is the chart by publication year. The oldest book I‘ve read I think was published in the 30s. 6y
vumblereads @rretzler 😂 oh you‘re totally fine. Like I mentioned before, this is what I like about Litsy because the community is so receptive. And yes goodreads staff are pretty strict about features to add. I haven‘t gotten over GR getting rid of the MOST READ AUTHORS feature. 6y
rretzler I didn‘t know that feature was gone. ☹️ I‘m certain that there is a way to do it on LT if you do decide to join. If you have questions about how things work, the members are always happy to help and @lorannen is wonderful at answering questions. And yes, I believe there is a way to export from GR and then import into LT. The other thing about LT that I like is it supports both “shelves”, called collections, and tags. Both are customizable 6y
Suet624 I‘m in agreement with @bookishbitch I‘m not happy that Amazon owns Goodreads and I stay completely away from Amazon. So I‘d hate to see Litsy be associated with Goodreads. 6y
Jemgirl2014 @vumblereads True! It's a pretty cool feature. 🙂 6y
The_Real_Nani I haven‘t gone so far as to delete my GR account but I don‘t use it anymore. I prefer Litsy because it‘s less overwhelming and not so busy! 6y
Bookladylinda I use both, Goodreads has its faults but I still like it. 6y
