A River Enchanted | Rebecca Ross

Mehso-so

When Jack returns home to find missing children, he has to confront more than just the spirits to set things right.

This is definitely THE pick for anyone who‘s enjoyed a rollicking D&D campaign. The world-building is sturdy without being Tolkien. You will 100% fall in love with Sidra (okay, that might just be me). The ending is disappointing — too open-ended to wrap up anything, which ends up feeling a bit cash-grab. #botm #longreads #fantasy

Well into this 20th century novel of Georgia, the country. I read with my atlas handy. Lengthy, instructive, absorbing. More novels about this part of the world please! #atlasreads #20thcenturysoviethistory #discoverGeorgia #longreads #toughlives

Oh, Rosamunde Pilcher can feel so dated but in a good way, when romance was about the openness of people‘s hearts and second chances... I liked this loooong story and am glad I finally got a glimpse of #Cornwall and #WW2 and #podmoresthatch and early 20th century painting...

Have you ever read a book that gave you so much anguish, yet you couldn't help longing to revisit that world?

OwenBanner It's no wonder this is such a classic. The writing is brilliant. It's well-researched, but not expository, and Follett brings the world to life in such a way so you begin wondering if you might just have a chance at opening a wool business yourself. Or maybe even building a little cathedral in your backyard? Definitely don't skip the foreword in this one. What is astounding is how a simple appreciation architectural design could have led to this masterpiece in human, historical, and cultural study that is at once so full of joy and so full of suffering.

The narration by John Lee was brilliant as well. Each character was beautifully acted.

How I feel right now after having to learn 30 tunes for a gig tomorrow, I‘ve had almost no time to read anything but charts. “Are you coming, Wisdom?” (I ask myself the same question every day.) Moraine is queen of throwing shade, I love her...almost forgot how much. @DannyHattan and Everyone doing this read: do you have favorite characters yet???? #buddyreadWoT #longreads #summerreading

Derf This is a reread for me, Perrin and Matt have always been my favourites and I always find myself waiting for their chapters 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 I hope that‘s ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻 not how much you‘ve read so far 😤😂 6y
danasreadingthis SAME @DannyHattan #teamMat and yeah it is lol but not every day gets to be read like that 🤓💁‍♀️ I‘m a sucker for the ones who appear as comedic relief, and then you realize they‘re kinda the key to the scene. (edited) 6y
