britt_brooke .... I'm glad it's over! 😬 Most of it really dragged especially the Eschaton section with all those effing acronyms! #longwinded 8y
Currey Agreed. Was Eschaton really necessary section? I guess we will find out but it was slow slow going. #stuckinthereadingmud 8y
JenP I'm still slogging through it. The slowest section by far for me. The footnote took me forever 8y

LittlePixels Oh thank goodness it wasn't just me. I thought the Eschaton section would never end. Although I'll admit to actually laughing out loud at the end. 😄 8y
Spiderfelt See @LeahBergen's flat cat picture. There aren't words to describe it better. 8y
Pippitypip I really enjoyed Eschaton. It seemed like a parody of Model United Nations and an exaggerated version of the games kids play when nothing really happens because they spend all their time arguing about the rules. It is farcically convoluted but DFW slyly interjects something ridiculous or clever to keep the reader amused such as Ingersoll strip-mining his right nostril or Permulis inviting Ingersoll to,do,something anatomically impossible.
