All of these for $3? Yes please! I haven't read #petsematary since it first came out, so it's time for a re-read to see how it holds up. The poetry is for #homeschool and the others are because I canceled my #BoTM membership earlier this year, so I've missed a lot of their picks. Thank you to whoever dropped them off at my library's book sale! Their loss is my gain! 😉💗

I'd rather have this in hardcover, but didn't want to spend the money (too many book hauls lately! #sorrynotsorry 😉), so I'm thrilled that I got my library hold so quickly. Hold times have gotten so crazy lately that less than a month seems positively speedy! I'm looking forward to what sounds like a throwback to the Stephen King of old. 📚❤️

LittlePixels @jenfowler Mine too, if you could have one at 10. 😉 I still have a bottle in my medicine cabinet with a tiny bit left in it (no, I don't still wear it. LOL) It seemed that everyone bought me either that or Jean Nate (blech!). Man, I'm old... 😂 2mo

So far, I'm loving the books in Amazon's new "forward collection". They're all super fast reads, and this one was so good I'm sorry it's over. If you like speculative fiction and are interested in AI and superintelligence (and don't easily have nightmares!), this one's for you. So chilling!!

Is anyone else a #gamer as well as a reader? I used to kind of hide it, as some people see it as childish, or a guy thing or whatever, but now I'm too old to care! I love this bookshelf; the juxtaposition of my game guides right next to my classics (they're to the right on this shelf) sums me right up. 😜 Now, back to Borderlands! #gamergirl

GrilledCheeseSamurai Yaaaaas! I'm a gamer! Also...im actually playing New Leaf right now on my 3DS cuz the hype is real for the one coming on Switch and it get me wanting to play Animal Crossing again. 😅 Also a big fan of Stardew Valley so this pic, for me, is 🔥. 3mo
GrilledCheeseSamurai And don't ever be embarrassed about what you love! Let the flag fly. 🤘 3mo
LittlePixels @GrilledCheeseSamurai I've been getting back into New Leaf a bit too. New Horizons can't get here fast enough! 3mo
LittlePixels @GrilledCheeseSamurai Also, if you like Stardew, you'd love this book. It's absolutely gorgeous! I already have many hundreds of hours into the game on various platforms, but wanted the book as a keepsake because it's so beautiful. As for being up front about gaming, it's more acceptable these days, I think. My husband laughed when I told him I didn't even consider myself a gamer for the longest time, though I really have been since forever 😜 3mo

I just read this entire thing in bed tonight, while trying not to wake hubby with my "damn, that thing is bright as the sun!" book light. It was a fast read, but not really my thing. I finished this about 60 seconds ago, and I'm still choked up from that last line. This one had #allthefeels - and what a ride it was. This one deserves all the stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

There are many good aspects of our culture being more accepting of "neurodiversity", but as the mom of special needs kids, one with autism, I'm going to have a very unpopular opinion here. Books like this piss me off. I guess more specifically they make me sad, and feel like I'm not seen. My kid's autism isn't good, or cute, or fun. Talking about Daryl Hannah or Jerry Seinfeld being autistic...really? (Continued in comments...)

LittlePixels In my world, being autistic doesn't look like a successful actor, or even someone who can ever live independently. It looks like screaming fits, speech difficulties, sign language, anxiety, aggressive outbursts against family members...did I mention the screaming? So much screaming. It isn't charming, and it isn't good for siblings to have to deal with. Yes, there are good moments, and yes we all love each other. 7mo
LittlePixels But whitewashing the negative aspects invalidates those of us who deal with the downside of autism on a daily basis. :( (edited) 7mo

4.5 stars, only because of was a bit hard to get into. It took me 4-5x of starting and putting it down over the past year before I finally got into it, but then (even after over a thousand pages) I didn't want it to end! Have you ever read a book where the world was so vividly described that years later you forget if you saw the movie or read the book? Kingsbridge was so masterfully realized that I have a feeling this will be one of those gems.

I *want* to love this book. It appears to have all the things: technology, time travel, ancient Rome, Titanic! In actually reading it, I'm less than impressed. There's almost no ancient Rome (so far), not much to do with the Titanic, no actual technology beyond "hey, we have a time machine, and it works...somehow..." ? Add in the contrived curse words/phrases, and I'm getting a headache from all the eye rolling. #disappointed

LittlePixels @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Yes! And they use "hashing" or "hashed" as a curse - constantly - as one would use the F word. Like "You really hashed that one up!" ? And here's a direct quote of one of the more flowery ones... "Hade's clangers in a hashing bluebox". Ughhhhhhh! 13mo
