Chapter 2. Frodo is finding out at last the story behind the ring and the evil that seeks it. He looks beyond his wish to leave The Shire for adventure and knows he must leave in order to save it. With all his wisdom, even Gandalf keeps being surprised by the hidden wisdom and courage of The Hobbits he supposedly knows so well.
