6am Sunday morning... LOVING this book 😍

#mudlarking #19822022 #2019

Magpiegem I love this book too!! Do you mudlark? X 2y
Dodi @Magpiegem Sadly, not. I've always lived near the river in London and hadn't heard about this until only a few weeks ago. Where I live now the river foreshore is inaccessible unfortunately. It's all so fascinating! Do you live closeby to a place where larking is possible? x 2y
Magpiegem I‘m from London and I think my fascination started because my dad (a builder) used to come home with pottery and prehistoric sharks teeth when he was digging up foundations on what used to be the bank of the Thames hundreds or thousands of years ago. I live in Brighton now and there are rivers near by to lark. But I‘m a treasure hunter where ever I go, shore lines, Victorian dumps… I love an old bottle 😄 xx 2y

Librarybelle This sounds fascinating! I‘m in the US, but books like these are in my wheelhouse! 2y
Dodi @Magpiegem Ahh, it sounds so cool! What are the Victorian dumps? 😅 Is it easy to find things on the beach in Brighton? When I was young I was encouraged to throw away everything that was old but now I'm starting to be attracted by all of this!! 😍 2y
Dodi @Librarybelle What's a “wheelhouse“? 🤓 This book is triggering lots of emotions for me...😊 2y
Dodi @Magpiegem If you happen to be in London let me know and we can have a coffee together near the Thames! 🙂 xx 2y
Magpiegem @Dodi “in your wheelhouse” means it‘s your cup of tea 😊 2y
Dodi @Magpiegem Ahhhhh, hahah, thank you so much, I had looked on Google what “wheelhouse“ meant but I was confused. 😅 x 2y
Magpiegem @Dodi that would be lovely, thank you 😊 there are old dumps all over the place. You often find small ones on country walks on the other side of the path from old cottages, you‘ll see an old bottle or something else sticking out of the mud. People used to dump there glass rubbish etc in one spot and now I think it‘s treasure 😂 we stayed in a cottage on a river in Devon last summer and on the riverbank I found tons of old jars and bottles xx 2y
Dodi @Magpiegem How interesting, it sounds like travelling back in time! For free! 😂 xx 2y
Librarybelle Thanks for helping out @Magpiegem ! Sorry, @Dodi …I‘m interested in these types of books! 😁 2y
Dodi @Librarybelle No need to apologise ☺️ in fact, I love to learn English sayings... I was picturing a house with wheels 🤣 🤣 2y
