The tagged one is my favourite so far.
“The Midnight Library“ and “The Food of Love“ are at the bottom of my list and I don't recommend them. The former is written well but it's fantasy so not my kind of book and the latter one is written badly and it's not engaging at all, quite the opposite!

I fell in love with this book. The author Lara Maiklem is so passionate that it feels like you're walking with her along the river while together you find treasures from the past. I was reading it very slowly because I didn't want it to finish but I didn't only read it, I felt it.

pick2021 no. 3- I loved this book. I found it absolutely fascinating. Maiklem is a river bed treasure hunter (a mudlark) and takes you on a journey along the Thames, linking its long history to the weird and wonderful artifacts she has found there. I learnt so much and will definitely listen to this again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can‘t listen to The Immortalist anymore. I got to the end of Clara‘s story and I needed a break. The world seems too bleak this week already. So I‘m listening to this instead. I‘m a beach “treasure” finder but I would love to be a mudlark.

pickThe Mudlark is a peculiarly London institution- a person who collects historical items both mundane and valuable from the river Thames, from coins to pins, gold to printers fonts. The author is someone who pursued the hobby for many years and introduces us to the locations of the river, the items which can be found there and the lore associated with each location. A good read, especially if you are in anyway familiar with London or the Thames.

Bk8 of my #MarchBookHaul & #BirthdayBookHaul (yes I know I‘m just adding to my #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom but it makes me happy in a world gone mad) is this NF about the treasures found in the tidal mud of the Thames River in London. I‘ve always been a history buff, it was one of my fave subjects in school & I‘m envious & fascinated by the relics of it found in countries like England that are so much older than Australia. Can‘t wait to read this.👍

We used to do this as kids! Love the idea of finding treasures amongst the tires and shipping trolleys! Some things never get old!
