Meet Me in the Margins | Melissa Ferguson

So instead of some checkmarks, I just thought I would post a pic of the pile of books read this week for my #BookReport 😂 I finished the Lunar Chronicles, including the two graphic novels and all the short stories in Stars Above - absolutely LOVED this series!! The Nora Roberts book included two novels she wrote in the early 80s that were pretty lame but checked off two years for #19822022 so there's that LOL The tagged book was fun but ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) somewhat forgettable. Definitely have some book reviews coming!!!

Also pictures of the amazing Kitch-Iti-Kipi spring. The pictures do not do it justice; it was SO magical. We got there early in the morning and were the only ones there so we just floated about watching fish in the incredibly clear water forever.

However, glad to be home - so many good things happening here - loads of gardening to catch up on!!!

Cinfhen Yay for the fabulous week!!! Welcome home 💕 9h
Kayla.Adriena Wow! The only place I've been in the UP is Tahquamenon Falls during winter 9h
TheAromaofBooks @Kayla.Adriena - We went there as well!!! I bet it's amazing in the winter! I think it would be fun to spend a winter someplace where they get “real“ snow for the whole season, although I'm not sure I would want to LIVE someplace where they get real snow forever 😂 8h
Bookzombie Great week and beautiful photos! 5h

Really fun read, plot wasn't the best part of the book but you forgive quite much if you love the characters and the world.

This book had so much action! Chapters were short and often ended with a cliffhanger. Still this managed to dragg a bit because there were some unnecessary scenes or too long minor scenes.

I love this world; how there is different countries with their own magic.

Writing was sometimes annoyingly repetitive and no room was left for reader to understand something her-/himself.

I love to be afraid for characters but you could trust no one important is going to die so that definitely took that feeling away.

It was wonderful to visit the Scottish Highlands and the quirky village of Lochdubh. I swear I could tell that this was written by someone else, as especially the last few in the series were entertaining but not quite as polished. Beaton leaves behind a colorful series with Hamish, and Green does well bringing the village to life once again. Hamish is up to his eyeballs in murder again, and of course his love life comes to play yet again.

Cinfhen Well done 👍🏽💚 2w

Librarybelle @Cinfhen Thank you! I‘m still not 100%, but all tests came back normal, so at least that‘s good. 2w
Cinfhen It‘s great that tests are “normal” but frustrating that you can‘t pinpoint diagnosis what‘s causing your symptoms 🥺 2w
Librarybelle @Cinfhen It‘s frustrating. The diet change I made has helped, so I‘m hoping it‘s just a slow process. Thank you for asking! ❤️ 2w

One of my African favourites so far for. These are the memoirs of NYT journalist Helene Cooper, who grows up in #Liberia. When the country falls apart after the coup of 1980, she and her family flee to the US. Her less privileged half sister Eunice stays in a country that for years suffers under crazy dictators who recruit child soldiers  and drug them to fight for.. well, for whatever. ⬇️⬇️

#ReadingAfrica2022 ??

BarbaraBB Cooper tries to forget about where she came from, but the Liberian girl within her needs to go back, in search of Eunice. There is so much I never knew about this country, that I have come to love from afar. I‘m in awe of its proud people, always hospitable and dressed up, even on the ruins of civilisation. 4w
Cinfhen Wow!!! This sounds WAY BETTER than the book I read for #Liberia 4w

If not for #ReadingAfrica2022 I would never have discovered this popular series about the lovely Mma Ramotswe, owner of the first ladies‘ detective agency in #Botswana. The mysteries she solves are not the point I think, the book especially shows a deep love for Africa. It‘s hard to believe a white man wrote this book yet he did an excellent job!

Told from the perspective of four young adults, this #historicalfiction novel chronicles the final days of WWII and the refugees fleeing the Russian advance. It‘s spellbinding, horrific, and deeply emotional. Sepetys has a way with words and the hook that keeps you reading. I loved this one. #LiteraryCrew #BuddyRead

I think this book has been on my TBR since it first was published in 2012 haha Worth the wait - creative and fun with likable characters. I did feel like the place cyborgs had in society wasn't very well explained, but on the whole I really enjoyed this one. And since it's been on my list ten years, I don't have to wait for the rest of the series! Bought all the others on Pango so they should be here next week!!

Someone gifted this one to me ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) for the #LitsyLoveWinterSwap back in 2019, but I didn't write down who... but thank you!! 😁
