pickJust finished this lovely middle grade book about a tween who struggles to follow in her abusive father's footsteps and meet his excessively high expectations. It sounds heavy, but the author has a gentle touch and the result is wonderful. Very well-written, paced, and with heartfelt, encouraging messages.
