Congrats @Cathythoughts on the 30k milestone - I've definitely benefited from your Litfluence (without which, The Idiot would likely still be on my shelf, unread).
As for #onewordonebook , I'll go with 'dry' (in more ways than one 😴 🏜️).

Airplane read #2 This was gifted to me by my favorite reader/ bailer @shawnmooney (who perhaps even left me some notes in his copy?!?) #onewordonebook DEPRESSING!!! Yikes, this book was so full of misery and tragedy with no redemption or lighter moments of joy! NOTHING!!! I liked the writing initially but even that turned sour...I didn‘t bail but came very close. Thanks though, Shawn. The premise had promise....
There‘s no such thing as a WW1 novel based in the trenches with a happy ending is there? And this doesn‘t break the trend!
A slightly different slant in that it‘s based on the Irish recruitment to the war effort -with commentary on what was going on back in Ireland.
A bleak, poignant novel, beautifully written, but you won‘t finish with a smile on your face.
