Ugh, can we stop with this BS?! This is doing just as much damage, especially to girls, as the “grit” fad before it. It blames YOU if you fail, never the person teaching you or a source being unclear. You failed, it‘s on you. Try harder. 🙄 This is damaging to girls. It‘s damaging to minorities. Can we just stop this? It breaks my heart that a minority woman trying to encourage women and girls is perpetuating this absolute nonsense.

Must EVERY book written since that moron started running for president use this term? It‘s not cute. It‘s not funny. It‘s just legitimising his BS. Also, for a historical piece, it‘s amazingly presentist and ridiculously informal. Let‘s not make this an academic term. Especially since this is written by the rare female historian, it‘s making the uphill battle we all face, that much steeper.
