Pickpick

I will never be buying or using anything made my J&J ever again after reading this. The final chapter‘s call to action is nothing new to anyone paying attention, but the rest of this book is absolutely mind blowing! Johnson & Johnson is a criminal enterprise. Acetaminophen IS factually dangerous, but not for the reasons that are in the headlines.
👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics “If acetaminophen were discovered today, it would never get approval” is all you need to know about this medication. The FDA is a waste of funding, then again, it‘s the drug companies‘ funding so that isn‘t saying much. This is a real eye opener. As a wise person told me when I started: be prepared to be angry. #GardinerHarris #NoMoreTears #audiobook #ReadByTheAuthor 3d
willaful I've been boycotting them for years, ever since I found out about them covering up the uterine cancer link. Monsters. 3d
ravenlee Ah! I saw this book on a library display ages ago and forgot to add it to my list. The biggest lie I tell myself is that I don‘t need to write it down, I‘ll remember it. Thank you! 3d

GingerAntics @willaful @TheBookHippie we haven‘t used anything branded as J&J in years, decades even. We always did generic. I‘m terrified of all the places they have their hands in the cookie jar. They are the parent company of TONS of other companies that make pharmaceuticals and household items. They are a shady bunch. 3d
GingerAntics @ravenlee @Hooked_on_books turned me onto it. It‘s a great read, but it is infuriating! 3d
TheBookHippie @GingerAntics they are shady AF 3d
Hooked_on_books Sounds like your response was similar to mine! What a terrific, infuriating book. I‘m glad it opened my eyes. 3d
GingerAntics @TheBookHippie Harris compared them to the mafia. It‘s rather appropriate! 3d
GingerAntics @Hooked_on_books I didn‘t know how far their tentacles were into so many other companies and how they‘ve shuffled stuff around to other of their companies to avoid taking responsibility. 3d

Hooked_on_books Buckle up, get ready to be pissed! 5d
GingerAntics @Hooked_on_books only 1/4 of the way through and my mind is BLOWN!!! WTF J&J?! WTF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT!!! 4d
GingerAntics @Hooked_on_books I think we are having the entirely WRONG conversation about acetaminophen right now in America. There are real things to talk about, but of course RFK jr can‘t even find any of those. 4d

Hooked_on_books Right? This book is so shocking. It left me floored. 4d
GingerAntics @Hooked_on_books I thought I saw you down here on the floor with me. lol Man this is a trip!!! How did we ever trust these monsters?! Advertising at its finest really. 4d
Hooked_on_books Yup. I definitely have little to no trust for big companies now, between this and how I‘ve been treated by several of them over the past few years (I am looking squarely at FedEx at the moment). 3d

Somewhere, Jane Goodall is having the greatest adventure anyone can imagine… and who knows what adventure she‘ll find after that! RIP Jane! 🧡🧡🧡

GingerAntics Straight up cried when she said this. It was almost like hearing her whisper from wherever she is “I‘m having a blast!” 6d

All. The. Stars.

I could not stop listening. Such a beautiful journey for a beautiful soul. This is a great discussion of religion, theology, gender, humanity, love. It has an interesting and lovely connection to “When God was a Woman.” Her description of her thought processes and her experiences really resonated with me and was refreshing to hear. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics I learned things about the world and myself through this book. It was just such a lovely experience listening to this book. 1000% recommend. #PaulaStoneWilliams #AsAWoman #audiobook

lil1inblue I'm sold. Stacked! 6d
GingerAntics @lil1inblue she‘s done like 3 or 4 TEDtalks! Highly recommend!!! As soon as I saw she had a book, I bought it. 6d

lil1inblue @GingerAntics Would you recommend the TEDtalks before or after reading the book? 6d
GingerAntics @lil1inblue hm… I don‘t think they take anything away from the book. She talks about giving them. Maybe before, but after wouldn‘t be bad either. 6d

Mehso-so

I almost want to give this a pick. I don‘t know why. It has some problematic parts, some of which actually damage women (can we please burn “herstory” to the ground already! Actual women in the field are harmed by this term, thank you). She seems to have no clue what most people mean when referring to the “c-word” (she uses it when referring to the word crone). 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics The use of a product with someone else‘s blood as an ingredient is not medically sound. Just. No. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 6d
GingerAntics It‘s mostly a discussion of how women have been marginalised and harmed throughout history through the use of the words “witch,” “slut,” and “feminist.” Definitely a conversation starter, but there are some issues here that just make me so uncomfortable. I probably would not read this again, even for a buddy read or group read. #KristenJSollee #WitchesSlutsFeminists #audiobook #ReadByTheAuthor (edited) 6d

When you hear “the c-word,” what do you think of!
#KristenJSollee #WitchesSlutsFeminists #audiobook #ReadByTheAuthor

GingerAntics For the record, crone is NOT the c-word! I can‘t imagine anyone would have guessed crone as the c-word. 🙄 1w
5feet.of.fury Depending on the context: Cancer? C u next Tuesday? 😂 no not crone 1w
Eggbeater I think of an innocent body part turned into an insult, mainly by misogynistic men. It's still a good word for the body part, and I'm taking it back! 1w
GingerAntics @Eggbeater yeah, she said c-word first, then she said crone. 🤯 I‘m sorry, I thought we were really digging into to sexism for a second there! 1w
GingerAntics @5feet.of.fury hadn‘t thought of cancer. That‘s a good one, like how some people will only whisper it. 1w

TalesandTexts How is this book? It‘s on my TBR!! 🤩 1w
GingerAntics @TalesandTexts well, her idea of the c-word is very different from mine. She talks about using an ointment that has someone else‘s menstrual blood as an ingredient. She used the ridiculous and harmful work “herstory.” It was also written in 2017 and BOY have things really taken a nose dive since then. 1w
GingerAntics @TalesandTexts other wise, it‘s actually an interesting discussion starter, but she‘s a little out there for me… maybe I‘m prudish (or she would call me that), but that‘s just me. 1w

TalesandTexts Omg!!! Whaaaattt?!!! How can authors be so irresponsible? Giving such information and not putting out any - “hey maybe don‘t try all these without further research…?” 7d
TalesandTexts I totally get you though. I am not too into the “out there” practices - especially in spell work and rituals. But I get that what isn‘t my cup of tea, maybe someone else‘s. Thanks for the input! 7d
GingerAntics @TalesandTexts yeah, the totally unnecessary description of her use of the ointment was just… wow… I think maybe she just needs a filter. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Like, some info is private and that‘s not prudish, babes. 6d
