Didn‘t feel as well paced as the previous 2. As even the book states, some things aren‘t funny and should be serious. Like the dress code for girls or that students who can‘t pay can‘t go on field trips. So Olive decides to go against her friends to fix it. I liked how the questioning showed between them all. Well written spaces for this topic. Like Olives aunt encouraging protests and mom says stay out of trouble. Good library time.

I wanted more from this. It is a cute little story, but I found the back matter so much more interesting. I was hoping this was a biography on how the symbol came to be. But if you are using this at story time or something, all the relevant information gets lost because it is at the back and not in the story. As said before, this could have been better.
6 hours - finished tagged audiobook: middle school story about unjust dress code punishment for girls. I have seen this too often in my years teaching and counseling in middle schools
3+ hours got me 2/3 way through the Jan Karon book. This one tells the story of the Kavanahs‘ journey to their roots in Ireland.

And now back to reading until my eyes 👀 falter...
Girl power and political action meet in this thoughtful coming-of-age story. Dress codes are STILL an issue.
