I am so very behind on my reviews for June & now July 😩 but I finished this one last night for #SundayBuddyRead & as expected, I loved it. Stacey Lee is probably my favorite author of historical YA & this is the 4th book we‘ve read with her. She creates characters that I love & root for & teaches me about history from underrepresented perspectives, all while telling an exciting & engrossing story. Do things usually work out at least ⬇️
I was waiting very (im)patiently for our #SUNDAYBUDDYREAD of this book. Lee brought the Oregon Trail, the general struggles of traversing it as well as the much more dangerous and difficult challenges of young girls and minorities trying to survive day to day. A wonderful coming of age story with fear, loss, heartbreak and hope, friendship and love.
I think this is my favorite by Lee—a moving story about friendship, set on the Oregon Trail. It‘s beautifully written, with diverse characters and tackling the issue of prejudice for a YA audience deftly. #SundayBuddyRead #Xander #CatsOfLitsy
Again Lee delivers. Did it end exactly as I expected? Yes. Did it follow her same formula? Yes. Did I have fun during the ride? Also yes. We follow Sammy, a Chinese girl on the run from the law with a runaway slave on the Oregon Trail. Wild adventures and lessons learned and a great title. #sundaybuddyread
I enjoyed this book. This was a coming of age story set during the Oregon Trail time. I highly enjoyed Sam's and Andy's relationship. They were two strangers, one trying to run away while the other searched for her brother, who quickly became close like sisters. Tjere were fun parts and nail bitting moments. I especially enjoyed the group of boys they joined during their journey to the West.

I loved this! I won't say much as I know there's a group doing a buddy read right now but I have to say how much I love a book that revolves around female friendship. Sammy and Andy are both wonderful characters and I was fully invested in their stories.
Watson isn't loving this huge thunderstorm nearly as much as I am. My workday is over, so I'm cuddling with him, playing some jazz to try calming him, and catching up on the #sundaybuddyread.
Luckily, I worked from home today & don't need to go anywhere. I'm just hoping my guy can get home in a couple of hours.
Finished this week‘s reading at the car dealership. I normally hate waiting here. Not today! #Sundaybuddyread @TheBookHippie

Enjoying this YA (tagged) set along the Oregon Trail #SundayBuddyRead
Just starting this today. I am behind #sundaybuddyread but plan to catch up. My husband is healing, so I have catch up time today. #porchlife #Lazysunday #coffeeandbooks

Thought of this one for today‘s #Paint prompt. It‘s in my #TBR waiting for #SundayBuddyRead 2025. I love Stacey Lee‘s YA historical fiction.🌅
I didn‘t have many books starting with the #letterU but this one was excellent.

I enjoyed this story of two teenage girls-one a runaway slave and the other a Chinese girl who has been accused of murder-who join the Oregon Trail disguised as boys. I loved how the relationships of the characters developed, especially between the 2 girls who barely knew each other at the beginning.
This is my #bookspin for March @TheAromaofBooks
The tagged is my #bookspin and Migrations is my #doublespin for March. Apparently I have a color theme going on this month 😂
