Rivers of London Volume 8: The Fey And The Furious | Ben Aaronovitch, Andrew Cartmel

Not bad so far. This time a unicorn horn is found and the detective has to go undercover as a street racer. Not much fey has I had hoped to see in the story (really it's on the title? ugh). As usual, great graphics and good story. On to the next!

When mysteriously powerful instruments are wreaking havoc in 1920s Harlem, it‘s up to Gussie, a former Folly practitioner, & Nightingale to hunt them down.

I really was expecting a lot more Nightingale, but Gussie & his boyfriend are a delight. The exploration of magic beyond England was fascinating, & the glimpses of Harlem nightlife were so fun. The mystery was really compressed & a bit abrupt, but overall one of my favorite novellas.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

My only real issue with this book was that I wanted more Nightingale. Instead, the story finds Nightingale in New York and is told from the point of view of an old schoolmate — Augustus Berrycloth-Young. He‘s a fun character, and we get to view both Nightingale and 1920s Harlem through his eyes.

rabbitprincess Even if the book doesn‘t have enough Nightingale, I am even more excited about this book knowing that it focuses on his younger days 😍 1mo

Another winner from the Rivers of London series.

This novella is set at the Jazz age. It's part of memoirs of Augustus "Gussie" Berrycloth-Young, Englishman in New York. He left Casterbrook and the Folly behind and is quite shaken when Thomas Nightingale appears on his doorstep.

I absolutely loved this adventure. Seeing The Nightingale during his high time but slightly out of his depth by being on the other side of the Pond.

Rivers of London Volume 6: Water Weed | Ben Aaronovitch, Andrew Cartmel

Still loving the series. In this volume, our detective comes across some weed that makes him not feel all right in the head and starts investigating the source. I absolutely love the two girls in it and how they kicked a$$. Graphics were still wonderful and well done. Looking forward to the next one!

Rivers of London Volume 5: Cry Fox | Ben Aaronovitch, Andrew Cartmel

Ah yes back to the story at hand! Much better than than the last volume. In this one, two girls are kidnapped and one is for ransom and the other is for sport. Our brave detectives must find the girls before it's too late. Love the characters, especially the bad buy that kinda looks like a fox! Awesome graphics and cool ending.

So far my least favorite volume. It the detective having an interview and telling all kinds of stories that happened in the past. They were okay stories, they didn't really grab me or hold my attention like the other volumes. Art was wonderful as usual. Hopefully the next volume is better.

Rivers of London Volume 3: Black Mould | Ben Aaronovitch, Andrew Cartmel

Such a good series! In this volume, our detectives are investigating black mould that seems to have a life of its own and makes people crazy. Some of the characters from the first two volumes are in it but not as much as the two detectives. Great art and really good story. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the next volume!

MissHel This series does not get as much love as it deserves! 4mo
