I started this series earlier today, and after reading two books, I immediately went to the library to nab the rest of the series. It's about a growing relationship between two male teens. One has a hearing impairment. As their friendship grows, so do romantic feelings. I'm such a sucker for the BL genre #fujoshi 🥰 With disability representation to boot, it's a definite win.

GOD, this volume made me so angry!! v2 focused on Conflict and here it was homophobia. And the author does such a good job at carrying my son through these turbulent times T-T!! I'm so happy to see the friendships he's forged in v1 having his back, his own self-discovery, and yes, even some of the DESERVED violence. AND THAT CLIFFHANGER!! This author has done it again 👏👏 this author interweaves all the stories so well :) I'm excited for v3!!

I‘m still not sure what I think about this series, but I have it all so I‘m dedicated. The last few volumes are pushing it to a 2.5/3 star rating. A twist has made things interesting (because they weren‘t moving otherwise) but there‘s still an uncomfortable age gap, child abuse, and an unexplained world. 🤷‍♀️ I feel like I‘m missing something, especially with all the rave reviews.

Buying this entire series, I had no idea what it was about. Having finished volume 1 & 2, I still have no idea what it is about. There‘s some supernatural essence going on with characters taking on roles of fighter and sacrifices; they have ‘other names‘ (hence Loveless); and there is an age-gap that you really need to be okay with (although the author says this is not a yaoi). Not the strongest of starts.

This is for the second volume Theory of Happiness. I couldn't find an entry for it.

The miscommunication got really annoying after awhile. Nothing got resolved until the end and everything could have been solved by talking and not making assumptions. It's a trope I'm not fond of.

It's still a good fluffy, wholesome read.

The hearing impaired/hard of hearing representation was handled really well. The book captured how isolating it can be not being able to hear people around you and how people's perception of you can change.

The romance was a sweet slow build and felt natural. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series and I think there is a film adaptation too.

I think if you have to wait for each volume, you can get frustrated with the storyline, but back to back, you see the simplicity in Nakamura‘s storytelling mesh wonderfully with the detail in their art. Nakamura‘s not going to tell you something is happening, they‘re going to show you with tearful eyes, clenched hands (watch the hands 🥵) and hostile glares.

I live for Nakamura‘s art. Long, lanky and fluid, people are almost animalistic/reptilian in some way. It is hard to explain but it‘s gorgeous. A simple beginning to a story: two boys meet and enter into a friendship, almost relationship. They‘re feeling each other out, and it‘s sweet and heartwarming.
