Fantastic on audio
Much like Sarah Dessen's Dreamland, I'm glad I didn't read this when it first came out, as it wouldn't have been as impactful. A little hard to read at times due to the emotions and trauma, but I appreciate the raw honesty and the ending, as well as the characters.
another book that could have been a lot shorter to get to the same conclusion…the last fee chapters were good and loved the stories of the other women…now ill watch AHS which was based on this book no wonder the events were super similar #audiophile #readinggoal #readinglife
5-25-24: My 14th finished book of 2024! I finished this at my daughter‘s house laying next to my 3 month old granddaughter and it was creepy to say the least. Don‘t read it while pregnant. Actress Anna Alcott is going through IVF with her husband Dex when things become weird. Anna can‘t trust anyone, her agent, her best friend or her doctor. Everyone wants a piece of her. There might even be a cult involved. Anna just wants her baby to be safe.
5-22-24: My new outdoor reading nook. My husband set it up for me on Mother‘s Day but today was the first day I could try it out and it was glorious. Reading outside is my favorite, preferably the beach, but this is perfect, as well. I‘m so glad my husband gets me. 📖💖😍
This was a slower Patterson coauthored novel. The main character Emily, you wanted to like but made continuous bad decisions. Unfortunately I DNF after about 200 pgs in. I couldn't wait for the other 200 🙈.
A Japanese girl puts all her passion and attention toward a J-Pop idol, her "oshi," whom she adores even after he hits a fan and refuses to offer any explanations. When he unexpectedly announces his retirement, what will she have left? This was an interesting read, though it's possible some of the cultural contexts were lost on me. It was a good character study, and I could definitely relate to some of the aspects of finding solace in fandom.
Tackle the TBR 🤓📚
