As a former expat, “Watcher” was a particular creepy movie with which to end my Scarathalon horrors. Isolated in a confusing foreign land with a difficult language, Romania, an expat wife encounters a dangerous neighbor… #horror #stalking #expatlife #movies #TeamSlaughter #Scarathalon

This pic showed up in my FB memories today… a stack of books purchased at my favorite local used bookstore at their annual Labor Day Fire Sale. This was from 7 years ago. Guess how many of these I‘ve read in those seven years? Yep. 0️⃣

I mean, “Forty Thousand Sublime and Beautiful Thoughts” isn‘t a reading book, it‘s a flip-through pretty-on-the-shelf book, but I have no excuse for the others. 🙈

wanderinglynn I have books I bought 20 years ago that still sit on my shelf I read. 😆😆😆 5mo
AnneCecilie I‘m right there with you @wanderinglynn 😊 5mo
jlhammar Yup, I can definitely relate! Kristin Lavransdatter is so good. Great that you have it on hand for when you‘re ready. 5mo

rachelk I do that all the time! 5mo
BarbaraJean @wanderinglynn @AnneCecilie That‘s encouraging! Because also still sitting on my TBR shelf are the two optional books for the Philosophy/Literature classes I took during my college semester abroad. In 1996. I will read them someday!! 5mo
wanderinglynn @AnneCecilie 🙌🏻 @BarbaraJean Because book collecting is a different hobby from reading 😉😆 5mo
BarbaraJean @jlhammar One of these days I will get to it! It‘s supposedly been high on my list for a while. 🙃 My college Medieval Lit professor highly recommended it, and she has very good taste! (edited) 5mo
BarbaraJean @wanderinglynn Absolutely! Related but different!! 5mo
LeahBergen 😆😆 I‘m guilty of this, too! 5mo
lauraisntwilder I have that same edition of Kristin Lavransdatter and I haven't read mine either! 5mo
BarbaraJean @lauraisntwilder Yesssss! Buddy read?! Because I don‘t have enough other books cued up… 😂 5mo
lauraisntwilder @BarbaraJean That would be fun, but it is huge! 5mo
BarbaraJean @lauraisntwilder I‘ve been thinking of tackling it next year. I‘m toying with the idea of challenging myself to read a chunkster a month over the year, and including this one. I‘ll have to tag you if/when I get to it, and see if your reading list allows for it! 5mo
lauraisntwilder @BarbaraJean Yes, please do! 5mo

Peter Swanson always gets me. Well, this is only the second book of him I read and he's already become a new favourite author.
His writing sucks me right in – he writes so (seemingly) effortlessly, such great character descripions and thrilling, twisty plots.
In the beginning, Abigail felt a lot like me.
A suspenseful, thrilling ride of toxic masculinity leading to a honeymoon of hell.

Yuki_Onna This was my April #Bookspin book. I don't write reviews for all the #Bookspin or #Doublespin picks I manage to read, but this one called for a quick shout out... 😁

TheAromaofBooks I just read another Swanson book this week and could hardly put it down (as usual) 7mo
Yuki_Onna @TheAromaofBooks That was the other one of him I've already read... Soo cool! 7mo

Great thriller, really enjoying Peter Swansons work. I‘ve read/listened to a few now and it‘s always an adventurous exciting read. Parts were predictable, but I did not see the ‘escape‘ coming.

Late to the party, as always... 😅 #JoysofJune #Readathon @andrew65

It's likely I won't have that much time for reading the next week, but we shall see... My goal is to finish the tagged book, i. e. my current read. It's fab so far, but as I said: not much reading time atm. ... 📚

Andrew65 Great to have you with us, whatever reading time you can get in. 8mo

I've really enjoyed other books by Liane so this was a disappointment.

LeeRHarry This is the one that turned me off reading her books. 10mo

I wasn't blown away by this book. But it wasn't horrible either.. just okay. I think my main problem with it is that the plot was great but the pacing was all wrong. Like others have said before me, good idea, poor execution. I'll round up to 3 stars.
