An enjoyable and surprisingly deep #tomantsy between a widow and the man who killed her husband in a duel.

Couldn‘t get into this historical #tomantsy , I really enjoyed the other books I‘ve read by this author but not this one. I didn‘t really connect with the main characters. A definite so-so for me
This was an emotional and deeply romantic second-chance romance with a pirate hero and an over-30, animal loving, spinster, heroine. While the romance is gripping, it is at times hard to believe they‘ll make their way to a happy ending. (TW for mentions of rape and abuse.) #tomantsy
I loved the main character and her friends and the part of the story that was about the journey from graduating college to finding yourself as a “grownup”. I also loved their author‘s writing and would read another book by her, however the hero and the aspect of the book that made the heroine “not like other girls” and “suddenly beautiful because she dresses better” didn‘t quite work for me. #tomantsy
