This documents Cait's life for 12 months during which she bought only consumables: groceries, toiletries, gas for her car. She discovered life is worth more than anything you buy in a store...don‘t let overconsumption #rain on your parade #uselessstuffday #thankfulthoughts @Eggs #forevernovember @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620

Nikki_E This was really good, and I liked that it was preachy like a lot of similar books tend to be. 3y
Smartypants I need more of this to do less. 😉 3y
Eggs I liked this book-it inspired me to set priorities @Smartypants @Nikki_E 3y

TheLudicReader I have never been a shopper, really. Except for books; I can‘t seem to give them up even though I really don‘t need to buy anymore. 3y
SheReadsAndWrites This looks interesting! Last year my husband and I purge cleaned and moved to a much smaller house (empty nesters) and I LOVED IT. I keep trying to read books like this to help me stay simple in every way I can. 😊 But no one can ever get me to stop buying books. Sorry. That one's not debatable. 😌🤓📚 3y
marleed It took me several years and 3 physical moves to reduce my personal inventory of possessions by about 2/3s. It‘s incredibly liberating. In my smaller space I lined an extra bedroom- now reading room -with ikea bookshelves and love to wrap myself in physical books. I donate books often so there‘s always room for new finds and I love supporting bookstores and libraries. 3y
Eggs @marleed @SheReadsAndWrites @TheLudicReader I love hearing how others view stuff/possessions 3y

Use Less Stuff: Environmental Solutions for who We Really are | Robert M. Lilienfeld, William L. Rathje

Day 21 - #UseLessStuffDay #ThankfulThoughts

Use Less Stuff Day was established as part of a campaign working to save the environment, and to save the world. Of course, what really needs to be understood is that we‘re not saving the world, we‘re saving ourselves. The Earth as it sits will spin on its merry way no matter what we do to it, and life on it will just adapt to the new environment we created.

jb72 I actually am working on a goal next year for the year of less. 3y
EadieB @jb72 I cleared out stuff throughout my house in the past couple of months and hope to use just what I need and live with less. 3y
Catherine_Willoughby Clear my house every month of whatever is waste/not being used. Only Halloween + Xmas decorations are stored for a month annual use Sold all extra decorations last year. Painted house. New simple decor to match. Store kids clothes for next in line. Unfortunately didn't work this time. Loads don't fit daughter- made 600€ from two storage boxes full . House is very small for 6. As I cull regularly never need a skip . 3y

EadieB @Catherine_Willoughby Had my basement cleared out (filled 2 dumpsters) and was sanitized on Wednesday and Thursday. Got new heater, air conditioner, air purifier, water softener, sump pump and air vents cleaned and sanitized. Getting house painted and new furniture when painting is finished. (edited) 3y
Eggs Wow 😮 Impressive! 3y
EadieB @Eggs Yes, have been very busy at my house! 3y
Catherine_Willoughby @EadieB was due to new doors and up cycle kitchen furniture however covid 19 stop that in its tracks- all saved money went during year. Brexit will now made it harder to save. Can't buy from UK amazon or ebay for everything! 3y

#ThankfulThoughts Day 21: There is no #UselessStuffDay for forever busy Master Chef husband who also does carpentry on the side: he made this new picnic table for our weekend trips. 💕💕
