Prince Lestat: The Vampire Chronicles | Anne Rice

so-so

Reason for reading: I‘ve been an Anne Rice fan since I was 17 (that‘s appx 500 years for anyone counting; just kidding…I‘m not a gorgeous or angsty immortal vampire being—or am I?).

The good: Lestat is the same old Brat Prince he ever was, so if you‘re into that…

The bad: 300 pgs too long, way too much talking.

Conclusion: I didn‘t hate this book but I did a mini groan every time I picked it up & I was so happy to be done with it.

#doublespin done! Another reread of the vampire chronicles and I enjoyed this! A lot of reviews mention it being rambly but I always quite enjoy Anne Rice‘s little philosophical diversions… and I bloody love Lestat and how much he loves himself 😆

This also fits into #promptmaze as a dubious ‘glow-up‘ (body swapping!) - could also have been categorised as make up or break up honestly but glow up felt most appropriate!

bekakins @Emilymdxn I am re-reading them (plus the Mayfair Witches) extremely slowly after having interview as a team read in Scarathlon 2022! I find I can‘t read them in quick succession as they‘re so dense but really enjoying dipping back into them as an adult (I was OBSESSED as a teen!) 4mo
