This was a 3.5 to 4 ⭐ read for me until the superb twist at the end pushed it up to 5⭐ status. I really enjoy this series.

Next up is A Room with a View borrowed from #PrimeReading. Similar, yet not really. Having a hard time getting into it.

Sr Joan is very inspiring. This short book is incredibly motivating. She says we are all called to be prophets. I highlighted at least half of this book. By the last page, you're convinced you can change the world for the better. A call to activism like no other, with Catholic Doctrine backing up everything she says. The Church, country, and world depends on us.

Good to read if you are liberal and a Christian. President Carter has an interesring perspective, and it's nice to hear a voice from his generation counter the alt right narrative. This book addresses spirtual and sociological faith. He also explains how faith and science aren't in conflict. Good, short read.

This book was a lot of fun. I especially appreciated that there was a half Mexican (like me!) MC as well as the topic of LGBTQ members of the British monarchy and the US first family. The reason I only give 3 stars is because the wealth and privilege was so unrelatable to me. I know that‘s the reality of those positions, but I had a hard time with it.

Two of my favorites
>>I have violent thoughts when people use the terms sci fi and fantasy interchangeably. "Oh, I love science fiction. I just read Lord of the Rings." I will end you.
>>I always say the book was better than the movie, but I don't even know if the movie has a book.

This showed up in #PrimeReading probably because of the new HBO series I haven't seen. It's a gritty, graphic, harsh commentary on humanity and society. Oddly enough, I feel a little better about the current state of affairs, since it isn't nearly as bad by comparison. Could be a helluva lot worse. Still a sobering read. Also, I found Rorchsach less endearing this time than I did when I saw the movie years ago.

I picked this book up to help better understand what someone close to me is going through, but then something weird happened. I identified with some of what she was talking about. This makes me think that maybe sanity is a spectrum, like gender, and I'm further across the scale than people think I am. Or maybe I'm just some kind of mental health hypochondriac. At this point it's anyone's guess.

First book finished in 2020.
Can't really go wrong with Calvin and Hobbes. This was a trip down memory lane thanks to my friend's book club that I read along with online (#RtC).
Alternated between this and Watchmen the day I had to appear for jury duty. That was a bit surreal.
