Stephen Colbert's Midnight Confessions
Stephen Colbert's Midnight Confessions | Stephen Colbert, The Staff of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert
16 posts | 19 read | 9 to read
Forgive him, Father, for Stephen Colbert has sinned. He knew it was wrong at the time. But he went ahead and did it anyway. Now hes begging for forgiveness. Based on his popular segment from The Late Show, Stephen Colbert and his team of writers now reveal his most shameful secrets to millions (although, actually, hed like you to not to tell anyone). Midnight Confessions is an illustrated collection of Stephen Colbert at his most brilliant and irreverent.

I can see why this isn't for everyone, but it made me chuckle, which I believe was the point and was a nice break from all the seriousness about.

Two of my favorites

>>I have violent thoughts when people use the terms sci fi and fantasy interchangeably. "Oh, I love science fiction. I just read Lord of the Rings." I will end you.

>>I always say the book was better than the movie, but I don't even know if the movie has a book.

So, if you've been following me, you know I just can't do audio books, as I tune it out. But I needed a palate cleanser after my latest read, and my library only had this as an audio on #Overdrive. I put it on while cleaning up, and inadvertently sucked my husband in. Not sure I'd count this as a real #audiobook, though, since it's just audio clips from the show. Trying to get my husband into audiobooks, though, so here's to ulterior motives.

jb72 It took me a good while to be able to listen to audiobooks. I started with nonfiction and it helped me along. 5y
Bookish_AF I‘m pretty similar with audio. What I tend to do is I “re-read” books on audio as sometimes I do like them for the car or doing chores around the house. Then if I zone out at times it‘s ok! 5y

legit terrible. “I know how to fold fitted sheets, but I will never tell my wife.” “I think riding a roller coaster is the most fun thing in the world. Then again, I‘ve never tried crack.” If you think those are hilarious gems, take a good look at yourself in the mirror bc ur wrong and u should feel bad.

This book is stupid. I only read it because I got it for free, and because it only takes about ten or fifteen minutes to read. It's not even remotely funny.

Buddys_Momma I enjoy his show but that skit is marginally barely funny; didn‘t think that an entire book of it would be any good 🤨 7y

I read this book in 12 minutes.

Some of the confessions are funny, but this is a strongly so-so little compilation.

MommyOfTwo Yea, they are both good but so different. 7y
Eyelit I just read this last night and totally agree with your review. Also, your pictured confession was my absolute favorite 😁 7y

Meh. Not my favorite part of his show anyway, so I wasn't expecting much.

Cute and ultimately forgettable, I read this very quickly over a lunch break.
