Demon Copperhead: A Novel | Barbara Kingsolver

Combined #BookReport and #WeeklyForecast

This week didn‘t go as planned. I soon found out that reading Demon Copperhead in bed was a bad idea, so I started Solitaire

On Wednesday, I needed a break from DC, so I read She Eats the Night

Towards the end of the week I got sick and was sick the entire weekend and hardly read a thing. So I‘m still reading DC which I hope to have finished by now

So in the coming week I want to finish my current reads

Mandoul Hope you are feeling better now! 2y
AnneCecilie @Mandoul I am. Thank you 😊 2y
Cinfhen Glad to see you‘re feeling better 😊Are you planning on reading the full #WomansPrizeLongList?? 2y

AnneCecilie @Cinfhen I don‘t think so. There are a couple on there that I won‘t rush out to get my hands on. But I want to read as many as possible 2y
Cinfhen That‘s kind of how I feel - I was lucky to borrow quite a few and I‘ve already read a few ☺️ 2y
AnneCecilie @Cinfhen The one I had tried to read wasn‘t exactly a hit with me. And it takes some time for the library to get the books if they aren‘t already in stock. But Trespasses is ready for pick up and I‘m on the waiting list for Fire Rush. 2y

Our protagonist is stalking a woman on the internet. This woman has an affair with the same man. Both our protagonist and the man are in other relationships.

A book about how easy it is to stalk someone online who posts a lot about themselves and how easy it is for social media to take over your life.

I liked this one, but I didn‘t love.

My second fiction 5⭐ of the year. I loved this book.
Peters does an excellent job of bringing trans culture and complexity to the forefront of the story without detracting from the story. She expertly and repeatedly reminds us the Whyte trans lives are different, & easier then blk trans lives - while still being brutally hard in this country
The story she has created is multilayer and engrossing. I will read this again.

Hooked_on_books Yes, yes, yes! So good. 4y
Nute Definitely getting to this in the near future! 4y
