panThis book was so, so very close to being a Bail. Within the first 30 pages, I hated all the characters and really just wanted to throw the book away and never have to look at it again. MsRadioSilence Past the “high schoolers are from the tech age so they talk like this!” bs. Besides that, the characters were super annoying, the magic rules were scant at best and nonexistent at worst, and when I finished it, my classmates cheered.
