Amazing & thought provoking! The story examines the difficulties & blessings of raising a transgender child. Beautifully written. It did take me a little while to get into the book so hang in there it is soooo worth it! ❤️

Phenomenal! If you have any interest in the Holocaust & the Resistance do NOT pass up this book! Truly my favorite book I've read this year. Irena & her network saved over 2,500 Jewish children in occupied Poland. An amazing true story & a must read 👍🏻👍🏻

This book was wonderful! Focused on 2 women from different generations of the same family struggling to survive in Afghanistan. I could not put this book down! Highly recommended

Like all Backman's books his writing is quirky, fanciful & nearly perfect! Touching story about Britt Marie & a small town cast of characters who I grew to love, especially the children.

Loved this book....I just returned from touring Munich & Nuremberg & so the castle in this novel felt alive & real to me! The development of the female characters was brilliant & I highly recommend this novel for a German perspective of the resistance before, during, & after WWII
