In 1942 Irena Sendler organized a network of Polish resistance workers who managed save the lives of 2,500 Jewish children from death and deportation by smuggling them out of the Warsaw ghetto during Nazi-occupied Poland.
I will admit that I had hoped to feel more emotion than I did but felt it read more like textbook. I would have enjoyed this more had it been a work of fiction based on real events. Still a worthy read.
