I happily recommended this (again) today because someone commented on a PC wallpaper painting that led to the rabbit hole that is this lovely book! It's not for everyone (usually I need plot... there's no plot!) but it's a great book for noodling on all sorts of subjects.

BkClubCare I do want to reread this someday. I rushed / skimmed it when at Tourney time. 3y

Let the games begin! #TOB2017

susanw I hope they offer the mugs again this year, I regret my logical decision, due to already owning too many, of not getting one. 😔 (edited) 7y
BkClubCare @susanw - I want one, too. I did get the tee, though. 7y
BkClubCare Ooo - I like the shape of that mug. Maybe we can exchange with each other when we get bored?! just joking, no one has time for that 3y

The opposite of a beach read! Eerie, confusing and infuriating!

My child is absolutely going as this bad-ass woman for Halloween. I expected a light, fun while respectful written version of the Tumblr phenomenon but this was actually a super readable, educational biography of this living icon.

Yet another privileged white family drama? Yes and no. This snuck up on me as a masterful anti-bildungsroman with multiple POV's that somehow, seamlessly, blend into a powerful and warm tale of New York, family, parenthood, 9/11 and so much more. (+Many "leaving the nest" allusions possible thru).

Thought I would finally be disappointed by the series but the heart, teen angst and family dynamics just keep getting better!
Thank you Ms Wilson!!

Good things: subverts many of the genre cliches... And the narrator is pretty great as an unreliable narrator despite being the detective.
Not so good things: 1)heavy handed foreshadowing
2)Villain seemed obvious to me 3)false allegations of rape as an unnecessary plot device (so you know whose bad)
