THE HANDMAID'S TALE | MARGARET ARWOOD
post image
Mehso-so

While I thought it was a good book, it left a lot to be desired. I feel like a lot of “whys” and “how‘s” we‘re left unanswered. Margaret Atwood writes beautiful, but it is a little confusing at times.

CollapsingLibrary I felt the same way. It‘s talked about like it‘s this amazing, ground breaking piece of feminist literature (at least in my literary circles) and it was turned into a hit tv show, so I had great expectations. However, like you said, it left a lot to be desired and I almost felt like I was missing something by the time I was done reading 6y
Baiforthedai @hjreviews exactly. I feel like it could have been the “an amazing, ground breaking piece of feminist literature” that it was portrayed to be, but it wasn‘t. It fell very flat to me. I probably would have liked it more if everyone hadn‘t built it up so much. (edited) 6y
CollapsingLibrary @Baiforthedai definitely agree 6y

RaimeyGallant It's weird reading this, because we're not given a key aspect about the reason for the narrative until the end. And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. Or if you prefer how-to videos, @chelleo put some together at the link in her bio. @LitsyWelcomeWagon 6y
