Mehl has written yet another amazing, intense novel which I couldn't put down. While I felt blindsided at many times as the story unfolded, I never felt lost as they blended easily into place as the case developed. The side characters and their stories are unlike anything I have read in a suspense novel, it brought a unique charm to the book that I was not expecting.

This is not a stand alone novel so you will definitely want to go back and refresh yourself with what happened in the past books. Gage is the perfect blend of strength and humility which makes him a wonderful and entertaining match for Ella. Like in Warren's past novels the main characters are just a small portion of the novel, the side characters are well written, and the transitions back and forth between scenes is smooth and never feels choppy.

Sydsavvy I read it without having read the others and absolutely loved it! But maybe I'm missing out . . . 6y

The plot of this novel was intense, thrilling, and gripping. Every chapter added to the suspense yet Eason always finds a way to weave in a love story to soften the novel. Steven was by far the best love interest I have read in a while, he is a compassionate and a true kind hearted person. Haley has a history that pulls at your heart strings and makes you want to learn more.

Crisis Shot | Janice Cantore
Pickpick

Instead of weaving a characters backstory though the pages Crisis Shot has it all written up front which make the beginning of the novel a little slow. Yet once the back story and main characters are introduced, you jump on a fast paced thrill ride as people go missing, murders are discovered, and lives are changed. Every aspect of the novel, from the small town to the people, was perfect for this type of novel.

Justice Buried | Patricia Bradley
Pickpick

Justice Buried has a unique plot with outstanding detail. While it is part of the Memphis Cold Case series you can read it as a stand alone and not miss a beat. Kelsey is an adventurous, creative, and well rounded character. Brad was a little harder for me to understand at first, but as his character developed through the plot he became my favorite. As the mystery twist and turns through the novel you will wonder if you really know anyone.

If you are looking for a novel that is perfect in every way, look no further! Every Pettrey novel seems to get better and better, with plots full of twists and turns, and dialog unlike any other author. Declan has always been a great character but in Blind Spot he is outstanding. Tanner was in the background in the last book, but she is so well written and her characters backstory is spot on it was great to have her in the spotlight

The plot is fantastic! Great details highlight the amount of research White has done on the time period, A Name Unknown is a must for any historical fiction fan. A Name Unknown took me by complete surprise and I loved it. You will not find another novel as well written and as entertaining as this.

Just Look Up | Courtney Walsh
Pickpick

The story was wonderfully entertaining and heart warming. Lane is an amazingly well written character with a personality and struggles that are easy to relate to. Ryan is the epitome of peace and patience and as the story develops those qualities grow stronger and more endearing. Walsh addresses real issues many of us face and shows them in an entertaining way and begs the question, how can our lives change if we Just Look Up?

A Love So True | Melissa Jagears
Pickpick

While I felt the plot sounded a lot like the first book in the series (A Heart Most Certain), I found myself drawn in from the first chapter to the very end. There were a few times I felt I had it all figured out but Jagears has thrown in some unexpected twist that will not only entertain you, they bring a whole new level to the story.

The other novels in the series have been full of depth, strong backstory, and entertaining plot. While the characters have had great affliction in their lives, and they seem to be dealing with big emotional issues, the book never has any really pull that makes you feel remorse, or connect with the characters. It was very entertaining, and it has a good plot, it just lacked the depth I like in a Johnnie Alexander novel.

Gripping, from the first word to the last. Not to often do I find a novel that leaves me speechless with it's amazing writing, outstanding plot, and perfect characters, but this book is it. Catching The Wind is a must read that will give you new perspective and insight into WWII, and the bonds from the era that are never broken.

Nora comes from money and tradition, yet lives her life in a way that makes it all seem so simple and right. She is kind, and has a unique blend of past and present. Johns character is the perfect navy man on the surface, but as the book progresses you see a side that makes him more likable. John and Nora's different personal struggles make this novel entertaining, and gives it a depth that makes you want to read it again and again.

To the Farthest Shores | Elizabeth Camden
Pickpick

Elizabeth Camden has such an amazing writing style, her novels are always filled with great detail, knowledge, and emotion, with stories focused on brave strong women that prove their worth in their quiet everyday acts. To The Farthest Shore is no exception, the story line is deep with emotion and toil as the characters deal with past mistakes that seem to hold them from continuing in life.

Pursued | Lisa Harris
Pickpick

Pursued is an intense thrill ride from the first page to the last. With an amazing plot and gripping story you will not be able to put this latest addition in the Nikki Boyd Files down. Hands down this is my favorite book by Lisa Harris, I have enjoyed the past Nikki Boyd books but this one was far above the others.

Sarah Sundin has outdone herself with When Tides Turn. The amount of knowledge and detail in the novel will make you feel you are there dealing with the same struggles. You will definitely want to read the first to novels in the series before you dive into this book, but it will be worth it.

Perfection! Dani Pettrey has done an outstanding job at writing a novel that is as close to perfect as you can get. Still Life has everything, wonderful characters, a plot that was unique and well planned, and don't forget the chilling scenes that kept me on the edge. Both Avery and Parker are return characters from Cold Shot, as are all the main characters, so you might want to go back and refresh your memory (I know I did).

The story line in this books flows perfectly from one scene to the next and one character to the next. Even as different relationships develop and change they never overpower the plot of the story. Be prepared for thrills, chills and, true to Warrens style, some thought provoking scenes as Will learns to forgive and Willow tries to embrace the love she truly deserves.

Justice Delayed | Patricia Bradley
Pickpick

Justice Delayed is a step above all other suspense novels and with a perfect romance to keep every reader happy. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put the book down. As I devoured each page Bradley easily weaved the characters and their back stories thru the twists and turns of the book.

In the Shadow of Denali (The Heart of Alaska Book #1) | Tracie Peterson, Kimberley Woodhouse

You will quickly get engulfed in the charactors, and the area. The writing will put a desire in you, not only to respect those who risked their lives to climb Denali, but also those who lived and toiled in his shadow. Cassidy has such a love for the area and a possitive disposition that she strengthens everyone around her. For the Record | Regina Jennings
Mehso-so

For The Record is, by far, the most entertaining historical novel I have read in a while. Jennings character descriptions are so well written that it's not hard to picture yourself right there in the middle of Pine Gap. Betsy is an amazing, tenacious, main character with both spunk, kindness, and an entertaining imagination. Then there is Joel, the poor man is just trying to figure out this quirky town and the people in it.

The story is fantastic but you MUST read the prequel, If Ever I Would Leave You or you will be lost from chapter two. Kacey is a dynamic woman with strength, and a stubborn streak. Just A Kiss In The Moonlight | Cindy Roland Anderson
Pickpick

What a fabulous book, I was just going to read the first chapter but once I started reading I couldn't stop! The story line and characters just grab you right from the start. Tylin is such a relatable character I think anyone could find an aspect of their personality in her. Luke is kind hearted, easy going, and grasping for the simpler life we all crave. Their love story is sweet, understandable and perfect.

Tangled Webs | Irene Hannon
Pickpick

We have already met Finn McGregor from the previous books in the Men of Valor series, but this book takes her personality to new depths. Dana is a complex character with such an inventive back story, it alone would pull you into the book. While many Hannon novels make you stop and think, Tangled Webs really has you asking the question, What would I have done? Everything in this novel is original and fresh and worth reading.

If you are looking for a sweet Hallmark type book this is not the book for you. Johnnie Alexander has no qualms addressing Brett's less than christian values in his past regarding morality, and the many relationships he has. Dani is well aware of his past and has no desire of becoming one of many. As Dani and Brett become friends you get the sense of changes Brett has made in his life, and his true desire to become a better person.

Perfection! It would be hard to find a better historical romance than A Lady Unrivaled. Lady Ella's character is a wonderful blend of curiosity and pure happiness. Like every good series, this one too must come to an end, but not before every question gets answered and some in the most shocking way.

The Reluctant Duchess is not only a brilliant fresh story, it's interlaced with many of our favorite and not so favorite characters from the first book. Rowena is the perfect addition to the already vibrant area personalities. Rowena has an Irish burr that takes a few chapters to get used to, but soon becomes an added layer to her, and not a hindrance to the story.

Sarah Sundin has given me a history lesson I won't soon forget, and can't wait to start again. Missing is full of twists and turns that kept me on my toes but, with the core investigation the same throughout, I never felt lost just shocked and entertained. While I have never been a fan of series that keep the same main character from book to book, Lisa Harris has a way that seems to wrap up the story so it feels complete but with a little hint here and there that makes you eager for the next book.

So great! Deadly Encounter is a perfect example of DiAnn Mills talent and ability to weave a suspense thriller in directions you never see coming. The story line was perfect, the crime starts so simple and yet as they dig deeper it seems to widen and expand in ways that are surprising. Nothing in this book seemed rushed, each new detail is developed, and the end was perfect. This is truly a must read!

Just a Kiss | Denise Hunter

Hunter's depth and knowledge of PTSD and the other issues vets deal with was perfect. As Riley and Paige tug of war with their relationship, and the rest of the family work to help Riley find purpose in life, you really get an idea of what families of injured vets deal with.
