Mehso-so

I found the language of this book to be poetically beautiful, but the storyline didn‘t really hold my interest as well as I had hoped. If it wasn‘t for the fact that I can never truly abandon a book, I probably would have let it go early on. I have mixed feelings about recommending it. Start it, but if it doesn‘t interest you, don‘t think it will get any better. It is what it seems to be.

1. I grew up in New England and spent my childhood out of doors in this area.🌲
2. It‘s overcast here and about 70 degrees. It‘s starting to feel a little bit like fall in VA. 🍁
3. It was a blind date in college the night I first met my husband! It was awkward and we totally ran out of things to talk about five minutes into the date. Just to be clear, the date was NOT my husband-to-be! 😳

Just got this through Audible. As a “retired” homeschooling mother of two very successful young women, I wonder if this might pinch even a little. I recognize this type of family from my experiences in the homeschooling community, but I want to believe we never drank the Kool-Aid. This is also my first audiobook. I have always loved having an actual book in hand, so we‘ll see how it goes. 📚

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle | David Wroblewski

Has anyone read The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski? I picked the hardback up at my local used bookstore because it looked interesting. It was only twenty-five cents, so it was either a great deal or a book no one wanted! 😜 No spoilers, please!

bookandcat I LOVE THIS BOOK. My favorite Shakespeare retelling ever. 5y
BirdsandBelles Ooh! A Shakespeare retelling! It‘s sounding even better! @bookandcat (edited) 5y
Beatlefan129 I picked it up because I‘m from Wisconsin so I was interested in the setting. I liked the story quite a lot in the end 5y
