Finished this last night but it's one that will never leave me!
I'll write a proper review soon but in the meantime I totally recommend it. ❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️
There were some things about this book I loved, but a couple of things let it down for me.

AH-MAZE-ING!
This is a must read - see full review here ➡️😊http://www.thebookeaters.co.uk/nina-is-not-ok-by-shappi-khorsandi/
This is a good read but it's a bit big and could be a little confusing- best read when you've regular reading time and not too many distractions!

I loved this book about a man saving the scrapings of bookish meals, plating them up beautifully and serving them as 'nuvelle cuisine'.

One of many lovely sentences in one of my favourite books this year!

Honestly? I got this book for the title - my best beloved older sister has a farm called Skylark Farm! I only had the cover to go on - it looks pretty twee but sometimes we all need a bit of escapism so I thought I'd give it a go! It didn't convert me to the genre, (and my sister's farm is better - it has goats!) but it gave me a bit of light relief. "In the heat and dirt of the Williams Place, the newspapers were an inky threshold where he could enter a landscape that reached to the North Pole and to other times and people he‘d never heard a whisper about before."
This won the 2015 BRAG Medallion award for Historical Fiction (awarded to indie authors / self published etc) So far it's a good read :)
Finished this the other day. LOVED it so much, straight into my top ten books!
It's the story of a beaten down woman who sees the future and finds a way to fight back.
Re-released classic

Vera is the 17. The daughter of a Russian Jew & a lapsed Catholic. She's insightful, intelligent & recovering from a breakdown. Her dad takes her to Lithuania hoping to connect with her & help her adjust to her diagnosis. Both the main characters are instantly intriguing & sympathetic. Great descriptions of Vilnius.
