30 minutes of quiet to drink my coffee and read in the parking lot while the my daughter finishes ballet class. Perfect Saturday morning.

I loved this story for so many reasons!
The Lord of the Flies feeling.
The spin on the Holy Trinity.
The generational divide.
The subtle (and not so subtle) religious references and allegories.
The matter of fact climate change references and depiction.
The sibling relationship. The ending. Oh, the ending.
Easy, short read. Almost felt like listening to my MIL at Thanksgiving.
I really enjoyed the writing but could not connect with the main character, Oona. I found her selfish and unwilling to see her impact on others until the very end.
Read Mary Jane and The Final Review of Opal and Nev back to back. Both great reads, though growing up in a very conservative area and getting the chance to expose myself to new ideas and people in my teens, I identified with Mary Jane more than Opal. Loved the music both books evoked!
