The Lesser Bohemians | Eimear Mcbride
Pickpick

This book broke me into a million pieces and fixed them all back together. I really feel for Eily, being thrust into the circus that is London and falling for a man who has so many skeletons. If you're planning on reading this keep the tissues handy!

Swing Time | Zadie Smith

I can't say this is my favourite Zadie Smith novel. Whilst I appreciate the language and the autobiographical style, it just hasn't hooked me the way I hoped it would. I don't want to ditch it just yet purely because I want to know what happens to the protagonist.

The Lesser Bohemians | Eimear Mcbride

This is the first time I've read anything by Eimear McBride. I find her writing style a little disjointed, it reads more like poetry than prose. It's not necessarily a bad thing as it reflects the pace of the book. After all, this is the story of an 18 year old experiencing London for the first time.

The Dry | Jane Harper

Pickpick

I absolutely loved this! I'd never heard of Jane Harper before I picked this book up and I was not disappointed! The pace and tone are just my cup of tea. I won't spoil it but this is one murder mystery worth getting lost in 😁😁

Who Killed the Hadler family? I think I'm close to finding out. I only started reading this today after finishing my previous book and now I understand the hype.

Stunning! This book is a very well timed commentary on what could be. Every member of the human race needs this book. I'm so glad I picked it up!

Incredibly excited to read this! If Margaret Atwood loves this it's got to be good 😁

Big Little Lies | Liane Moriarty
Pickpick

Despite a slow start (I was very busy!) I finished this in a day! This book reminded me of "Girl on the Train" in the way it revealed its twists and turns. This book will leave you wondering what to read next

I haven't had much time to read this week but this one is great for demonstrating the competitive side of parenting.

A very twisted story that I just could not put down!

Margaret Atwood is one of my favourite writers, so I may be a little biased. It's a strange book that focuses on the lives of a young couple struggling to survive. It feels very relevant and I highly recommend it!

The Vorrh | Brian Catling
Bailedbailed

I found this really hard going. I do plan to go back to it but I just couldn't focus on it at all.

The Circle | Dave Eggers
Pickpick

I loved this. I have been suggesting to to all of my friends and colleagues (especially those who work with tech/ have a serious social media addiction. It's an absolute must read. Mae (main character) is so relatable as she gets swept away by The Circle.

The Beautiful Dead | Belinda Bauer
Pickpick

The Beautiful Dead was a book I picked up on whim because I really liked the cover. I know this isn't the best basis to choose a book but I was not disappointed. What it lacks in length, it makes up for in pace. I would certainly read this again!

Here I Am: A Novel | Jonathan Safran Foer
Mehso-so

Here I am picks apart family life in a way I haven't seen before. Although it felt a little dense in places, I quite liked it.
