As a teen growing up OBSESSED with the Manson murders I was excited to pick this up. However it was less about our protagonists delve into the years old case as it was her exploring her relationship with her mother, her sister and herself. Still an enjoyable read overall. Just not quite what I expected.
A dark comedic and snark filled romp that holds more below the surface. This touches on issues such as fear in the media, racism, and coming to grips with your own mortality. Loved. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I absolutely love the way they tackled the delicate subject matter. I also adored the friendship between Hermoine and Polly.
Pretend your angst ridden middle schooler wrote horror fiction inspired by bitchcraft films and mean girls. Now, pretend she turned it in as part of a creative writing project and you were called in by that instructor as well as a school counselor and another member of the administration to discuss what may be wrong with your child. That about sums up not only the writing of this book, but the overall feeling about this book after reading it.

I love a good Shakespeare retelling, and I really appreciated the way this retelling of Macbeth was handled. It was definitely different. At times a bit too different. I loved the diversity in this book. My one complaint is that atmospheric nature of this ghostly tale sometimes went a bit heavy handed, even at the expense of the plot.
5 stars! I love that Niven created a 3 dimensional character with Libby instead of the typical pathetic fat girl character who is happy with tiny amounts of attention or scraps. I'm happy it isn't just a story of people learning to accept that fat girl, or the the fat girl gets a makeover and looses the weight and suddenly becomes usable and viable. Moreover, I'm glad the fat girl was actually fat and not a Bridget Jones 135 pounds. Great book!
3.5 Twisted, strange, macabre and ...well...different than anything I have read. While I appreciate the freshness of the material, it still suffered from a bit of a dragging pace and an ending that could have been satisfactory had it not forced itself so hard. This was almost a four star. I still recommend it for a creepy October read.
4.75 out of 5 stars. I have fallen in love with Ishbelle Bee's poetic, grisly, grim, and languid writing. Lockhart has become the antihero of my dreams. I need more from this twisted world.
What I'm reading tonight. I'm almost finished with Clockwork Princess, the last book in the infernal devices trilogy. #bibliophile #whatimreading #bookstagram #bookaholic
I loved the feel of this book. It is a high fantasy adult fairy tale. It has elements of the Slavic Baba Yaga tale weaved into other fantastical fairy tale elements. It boasts a magic system that, while not explained, is simply beautiful in execution.
I LOVED the way female friendship was dealt with in this world and how it took precedence over any hint of romance happening within. Unfortunately, the characters were one dimensional.
Hauling all the books!!! #books #bookstagram #barnesandnoble #bookoutlet #bookdepository. Already finished "Thanks for the Trouble." What's next!?!
Only 30 more pages left...
