Because of Winn-Dixie is a Realistic Fiction children's novel written by Kate DiCamillo and was the winner of a Newbery Honor distinction award. This is a book about a little girl who becomes best friends with a stray dog. This is a must read for every dog lover out there! This book would be good for an IR. #ucflae3414f19

DrSpalding I like the idea of literature circles for this award winner however I also believe reading it aloud could help facilitate comprehension when some of the more confusing parts come up. 5y

Click Clack Moo, Cows That Type is a Fiction book written by Doreen Cronin and is a Caldecott award winner. This is a cute book about cows who get access to a typewriter and makes demands to the farmer now finally being able to communicate. I would definitely use this book as a RA. #ucflae3414f19

KevinKantola The UDL strategy that I would use for this book is Foster collaboration and community (8.3) by using the reader's theatre script. The ESOL strategy I would use is promote cooperation by maybe allowing the students to form groups and performing the script within the groups. 5y
DrSpalding One of my previous students turned this into a readers theater as well. Check our Google site for that resource and make sure you think to use the many resources posted there in your future classrooms/internships. 5y

Don‘t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus is a Fiction book written by Mo Willems and an award winner the Caldecott seal. This is a cute little book that you can share with your class about a pigeon who reaaaaally wants to drive a bus. Your class would find the pigeon's efforts to be hilarious and can probably relate to the pigeon in terms of eagerness. I would definitely do a RA with this book. #ucflae3414f19
