I listened to this in audiobook format and found it to be a delightful adventure. Drama, love, pirates, alchemy, streaking the castle of Versailles... the plot moves continuously and the main character, Monty, goes through a satisfying character development. Lots of fun!

I listened to this as an audiobook, and will probably return to it to read on paper as well. Not only is this story fantastic, but it is read by a full cast (166 people!) of well-respected actors (with Nick Offerman and David Sedaris as main characters). Check it out! Definitely some language that is not kid friendly though, so keep your headphones handy if necessary! 😊

Oh, this book has my heart. A perfect balance of science & mysticism, joy & pain, love & violence, with WWII & space program history thrown in. Ultimately, it's a beautifully wrought love story between the narrator's grandfather & grandmother & between generations bound by love & challenged by war, mental illness, crime & secrets. Expressing love through storytelling contrasts the withholding of a story in the name of love. Truly a beautiful read.

A well-written story full of contemporary issues, great characters and an intriguing mystery. Must read.

Oh, my heart... so full after reading this book! Love, destiny, senior year of high school angst, contemplation of multiverses, immigration, identity, humor...this one is a keeper!
