Got this on a whim and it‘s already hitting me in a spot I didn‘t know I needed - thanks Guys.

The best impulse purchase I‘ve made in a while! I love all things pulpy and low-brow in the book world so I‘m excited to sink my fangs into this one!
Been dipping into audiobooks lately, and this familiar friend was not only continues to be a lovely rainy-day read, but was beautifully read by actor (and literary nerd) Dan Stevens. While Murder on the Orient Express is not my favorite Christie, it is certainly one of her most enduring books, and one of the best in the genre.
Can I just sit here and bathe in this glorious prose all day instead of going to work?
Looking forward to diving into this one soon!

Andrea Offermann‘s illustrations for M. T. Anderson‘s YVAIN: THE KNIGHT OF THE LION are astoundingly lovely, and the adaptation of the De Troyes epic is beautifully done. #illustration #art #arthurianlegend
I‘ve read some of Milne‘s plays and enjoyed them, but I‘m delighted to discover this excellent addition to the mystery genre from him as well. If you enjoy Christie and Chesterton and their fellows, then The Red House Mystery will be another enjoyable romp through the murder-riddled English countryside!
Doing some “research” for my next play commission by looking for sci-fi mysteries and this one is a doozy.
Some entries in Harold Schechter‘s Bloodlands shorts for Amazon are stronger than others, but the design work is gorgeous across the whole collection.
Alas! If the heroine of one novel be not patronized by the heroine of another, from whom can she expect protection and regard?
Yowza! Pow! (Useless as her powers are for fighting crime, they‘d probably still let Everything-Goes-A-Little-Bit-Easier-For-Her Girl join the Avengers. I mean, they let bow-and-arrow guy join the Avengers.)
I‘ve been loving Meddling Kids, not only as a teen-detective oops-maybe-the-monsters-are-real pastiche (which it perfectly is), but also for its beautiful exploration of how the skills and traumas of childhood define you - or don‘t - as an adult. And the writing is gorgeous.
A fun little coffee-table book with a nice selection of both classic and modern cocktails. (Not pictured: my classic-style gimlet made with the recipe I checked in this book because it was closest to the bar.) #cocktails #barbooks
Well that was sort of a nifty find...can't wait to start on this one once I get a free moment. #mythology #norsemythology #neilgaiman
I love nothing more than reading what my favorite writers have to say about the process of writing.
'People who cease to believe in God or goodness altogether still believe in the devil. I don't know why. No, I do indeed know why. Evil is always possible. And goodness is eternally difficult.'
Don Jaime shook his head, ironic and indulgent. 'Fencing is like holy communion,' he said with a smile. 'You must come to it in a fit state of body and soul. If you break that supreme law, then punishment is bound to follow.'
