I read this after a mention in a piece on Meg Wolitzer in NY mag, and I was not disappointed. Despite living a very different life than this WWII era housewife, many of the stories about her interactions with her son we were relatable and hilarious. The quiet desperation of this woman was heartbreaking, and I felt the vignette about the tornado at the country club was incredibly poignant. Excited to explore more from this author.
