“... I was wearing my comfiest pair of schlumping shorts. They were a slightly faded blue, with tiny hedgehogs picked out on them in white. Oliver‘s T-shirt, which smelled of fabric softener and virtue, was long enough that it mostly covered the design, but it was a good thing I definitely didn‘t want to get it on with him because Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle—the hedgehog design, that‘s not what I call my penis—would have nuked my chances.”

Oh I like this one. Only about 10% in and already have smirked a few times. This will probably be a fun audiobook. Very British but still readable for us yanks

This book is set in the late 1400‘s in Spain and is about the expulsion of Jews. This is a good read that is best suited for older elementary readers. After reading I researched to find that several figures in the book are based on real figures from history.

Delightful chapter book that appears as an early chapter book but has advanced vocabulary and STEAM themes hidden inside. A gem.

Ugh. Do not listen to the audiobook. I cannot believe with the amount of support this book surely had that they hired such a piss poor narrator. It has ruined this book for me. I will have to try it in another year or two with the print version to see if it is any better.

LibrarianRyan That sucks. I just finished the book but didn't try the audio. 4y

Super good so far... reading with my 8 year old and talking about discrimination.

This is a readalike I would give to friends who liked Fleabag and Bridget Jones‘ Diary books. I originally read it through Netgalley but it‘s published today!

Man. The audiobook narrator sounds so much like Katey Sagal. I speed most my books up to 1.25 or more but doing that made it sound exactly like her to the point of distraction. (Loving the book though)!

RaimeyGallant Good to know! And a belated welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. 6y

I read this as one of my monthly reads outside of my usual genres and was pleasantly surprised. I loved this novel and could imagine the whole thing on the big screen. Wonderful. I found a new author to enjoy! Winner.

Reading this one, the last in the trilogy, at a slow and steady pace to cherish the characters and writing.

CrowCAH I know how you feel; you don't want to let the characters go, they've become your friends! That's how it was with LOTR and The Hobbit. 7y
