I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I love the fact the authors are an entrepreneurial husband and wife team pairing up to tell the story of success in the black community. It‘s refreshing to see positivity and enlightenment towards this subject versus victimizing and hopelessness.

The Sea Is Salt and So Am I | Cassandra Hartt

This was such a dreamy read! This story takes place in a small town in Maine named West Finch. 16 year old Harlow Prout sets out on an adventure.. looking for anyone and everyone willing to help save her small hometown from falling into the sea. Storms and hurricanes of years past have damaged her town little by little. The book is heartbreaking at times but in a really beautiful way.

This story will not only appeal to kids that grew up spending their summers at camp.. but also the ones who always wished they could! At times, the book is complete chaos (but in the very best of ways, of course!) Combine mischievous teenagers without any adult supervision and you‘re asking for an action packed adventure with many twists and turns!

The Plot | Jean Hanff Korelitz

As soon as I receive the book I drove right in. I knew I would enjoy it but I didn‘t think I would have enjoyed it THIS much. I already am a huge fan of books that have to do with books, bookstores, booklovers, etc.. but this story took it to a whole new level. The story revolves around a college prof/failed novelist who has a student with a VERY good idea for a book.. possibly one of the BEST ideas to come across his desk in a long, long time.

This book rocked my entire world. Upon seeing the cover, it instantly drew me in but the story line hooked me. This story mostly follows Jack, his brother Matty and Ava. We see the struggle of these characters bond to the past, relationships between mothers & fathers, to family.. loyalties and most of all - the struggle of simple survival. It was a definite page turner and I read it in one day!
